Game is refusing to launch
First I installed this game in my D drive, it was not launching then i read that it would only work on the OS drive(C) so i shifted it to a steam library in c then I tried again still no use.
My pc specs are 8gb RAM,Ryzen 5 5500u hexa core,gtx 1650.

Edit: After i changed the game's location to c drive i just had to delete the temp files then it started running

I had mine not launching either and found out about screen resolution not matching the resolution in AC unity. I had min as custom (NVIDIA scaling). When I switch back my resolution to a standard one, it fired up.

My guess is that you need to mirror the setting of AC unity to have the first time launch and after you're done you can change it.

Some report having two keyboard or some extra controler or anything elese that is not a "standard typical" set up, need to be remove to initate the first launch. After you launch it once, then you can plug back or go back to your special setup and it will launch from now on.

Anything that is not matching the game architecture is not going to work. Wrong drive, wrong controller setup, wrong screen resolution and so on. You need to make your computer as standard as possible to be able to lauch the first time, once you lauch it once, then you're ok or it is kind of updating it self to your rig.

I have now got it fixed. I tried uninstalling the game. Then install it on my C:drive, it was previously on the D:drive

Edit: I think it might has to be in the drive where ubisoft connect is

almost every ac game doesn't start because it cant run on digital drives only on physical computer drives. i dont know why but my ac origins fixed changing it to my c drive

"edit: verify integrity of files after changing it if on steam"

You sir, have no idea how much you saved me. I tested every method I could find on the internet, ruled out every possibility, then by simply reading your comment, specifically the "wrong controller setup" part, a lightbulb popped above my head. I am running a Wooting keyboard which is a analog keyboard and it gets recognized by the OS as a controller/keyboard hybrid. All I had to do is to disable the "controller" feature and make the keyboard read just a regular keyboard and now ACU just works. Thank you so much!

And for anyone having the same problem using an analog keyboard, from my testing, you actually need to keep the analog functions disabled as long as you're playing ACU or it will crash as soon as you activate them.

Ok guys this worked for me, change your desktop resolution in your graphics control panel. Once it launches you are able to change in game and also later put back your original desktop resolution. I think the in-game resolution setting are low but theres another fix for that, just search Unity change resolution on Youtube. Worked for me anyway, hope it helps.
This worked for me on Windows 11! I went to system settings for Windows, then display, then changed resolution from 4k to 1080p, confirmed, and then clicked on the AC Unity window that was launched earlier! Thank you so much!

the problem is that your computer has too many cores. i was able to get it running on my Gigabyte aero i7 1200k or what not. by running "msconfig" then selecting "boot" "advanced" select 8 logical processors and reboot. there the game will run if it dost then select the Acbsp.exe Right click "properties" comparability select windows 8 and run administrator,. play game have fun. when you want all your cores running again then you must run "msconfig" "general" normal start up. restart. its a pain but works. again have fun.

fixed mine by literally just running ACU.exe as an admin

Thanks for sharing, Penth.

We advise to always run Ubisoft Connect as administrator.
You can launch Ubisoft games purchased via Steam directly from UC as well.
