DS4Windows Issue (Help)

I don't know if it only happens to me, but I been having this trouble on all Assassin's Creed I bought on PC.

A month ago, or so, I bought AC Syndicate, which after getting the grapple hook, I noticed that pressing the aiming button (R2) also triggered the grapple (R1), I don't know why, so I just thought my controller was broken, and moved on.

I bought today, Assassin's Creed Unity, and I'm noticing, that everytime I run, I throw a smoke grenade, and when I get into stealth mode, I do quick-shot. So I got kinda nervous, beliving my controller was tearing apart. So I did a test mode on all buttons. and the R2 and L2 didn't seemed to trigger R1 and L1, so I tried to use the PS4 default controller itself, and changed the buttons. However R1, R2 changed layout, R1 was to stealth mode, and R2 to quick-shot, and L1 was to run, and L2 to throw a smoke grenade. So I figurated out it's an issue with the PS4 Compatibility with Ubisoft and DS4Windows.

Can someone help me finding a solution, or disable the PS4 Compatibility with it? It's really annoying when I have to run, and I'm just throwing smoke grenades like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

(Edit: I forgot to mention, when using default PS4 controller, buttons worked correctly without triggering anything else, than the button set to)

So when you don't have DS4Windows on and play the game, it acts retarded? Or with it?

I don't know what the hearts mean. But when I don't have DS4Windos. R1, R2, L1 and L2 works fine. However without ds4windows the mapping keys don't work properly. Like A button is the Square. B button is the triangle. And etc.

And with DS4Windows, the mapping keys are fine, but R1 and R2 triggers at the same time when pressed R2, same with L1 and L2. It's quiet annoying starting to run and throw a smoke grenade.

Just use x360ce, the latest alpha ver., install, go to options>virtual device, install both drivers, then configure the controller and restart the PC.

Try hide ds4 controller in the ds4windows settings then restart steam

I been having "Hide DS4 Controller" since I have ds4windows downloaded. So I doubt thats the issue. Thanks for tip anyways!

You shouldn't have that on by default. Very few game need that function.

I have it on always and It never gave me any trouble on other games x)

I had the same issue, and found the solution

STEP 1

Quit DS4 or press on stop on the bottom right of the DS4 window

STEP 2

Go into the steam controller settings,
In general setup enable "Plastation controller support"

STEP 3

dowload this Fix from nexus (easy to install)
https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedunity/mods/35?tab=files
Past the ACU file inside "documents/Assassin's Creed Unity"
(into the document file where the settings saves are, not where the game in installed)

And thats it, now R2 doesnt trigger R1 anymore, your character will stop throwing randomly smoke bombs whenever you try to run :)

I can confirm that the solution posted above by Slevin also works for the Uplay version. Just add AC Unity as a non-Steam game to your library.
