How to Run AC Unity Better on a High End PC?
So, I’ve had this game on my pc for a while now, when I first started playing this game with my old graphics card (GTX 1060) I had perfect frames, hardly did I see it drop under 60 and this is without fiddling with any settings. Later, having not played AC Unity in a while, I wanted to play it again, so I go to load it up to find that I have 50fps average with dips into high 30’s, wtf? I struggled before on trying to figure out why it was like this but gave up. Now, just a few days ago I recently upgraded my graphics card to an RTX 2070 SUPER, so excited to test out different games with amazing results I open AC Unity, I still, have an average, of 50’s frames, WTAF!? This is so infuriating, why the f is it like this? How can I get the original perfect performance i was getting back when I first started playing this game with my GTX 1060? Is there something I’m doing wrong, is there something out there that can help me? Pls let me know

Already have Odyssey but it too ♥♥♥♥ to be fun lol
i cant even run over 45pfs maxed out on a rtx titan
Really? It's running perfectly fine on my GTX 1660. There's only an odd stutter here and there like when I first boot up the game, but that's it.

What settings are you using for the game?

AA and shadow settings have huge impact on performance. On a GTX 1070 at 1080p I get 100 fps avg with high shadows, fxaa and everything else maxed. Soft shadows and other aa options arent worth the performance hit imo.

Are u sure TXAA is off ? That shizz eats up performance, I go from 80-90 fps to 50-60 fps on an RTX 2080 @ 1440p just by turning TXAA on...

Use AA on FXAA or off, everything else should be very high or high, also try shadows high instead of PCSS.
GTX 1060.
If i have v-sync off i get over 60fps with everything set to high. With v-sync on it drops to around 48-50fps.
I can handle a bit of an fps drop because the screen tearing in this game is really bad especially during cutscenes.

In order to improve performance, I'd advise to go through the steps in this link[ubi.li]

Sounds like a CPU bottleneck, let me guess 4 cores?

I get 88fps avg at 1440p max no AA over 7 hours using a r5 2600 and vega 56, game uses about 60-70% of all 12 threads. I played it a couple years ago on an i5 2500k 5ghz and gtx 980 and it was just about playable with the CPU pegged at 100% usage all the time.

Ubisoft downgraded the amount of people in later AC games so they are not as hard on the CPU, since many people cried when this game released it was too demanding.

im running a laptop with a gtx 1660 Ti, and at ultra im getting about 50 frames to... and dips to 30 fps
but at some locations i got 60 - 65 fps.
Ah, i see now. Unity is quad core unfriendly game. Over 90% use of CPU during most of game.
