Aveline De Grandpre playable in AC Unity?

Does anyone recall when starting the game for the very first time, yo're taken to a character selection screen where the only guy you could pick was that french templar dude before going on to Arno's campaign. In that select screen there were a bunch of characters that you can apparanetly play as I guess at some point in the future of this games content... Among them was Aveline, if anyone else noticed. Does anyone know if she is confirmed as a playable character in the game wether its upcoming DLC or wether you have to do something in-game to unlock her? I've scoured the internet for Aveline appearing in ACU and havent found anything, which is pretty mysterious to say the least. Any input would be welcome. Thanks Community

What you say at the beginning was the 'Helix', Absturgo's (I so spelled that wrong) video game console. Each mission was a part of the Helix video game. In Unity, you are playing the Helix but as far as my knowledge goes, since the Assassin's recruited you, you cannot go back to the Helix and must keep discovering Arno's memories for more information for the Assassin's.

If you look at the weapons added for the upcoming Dead Kings DLC, there is a hint (a very "in yo face" hint) of another weapon of the First Civilzation which is probably the next time you, the initiate, goes in contact with the Assassin's

In other words, no you cannot play as Aveline

Also, if you missed it, that screen you mention has three templars up top, the one you mentioned, the Borgia Pope from the AC: Ezio saga, and Haytham Kenway.
Then it has the Assassins:
Altair, Shao Jun (China), Ezio
Connor, Aveline, Edward,
Then the three on the bottom aren't out yet. I was thinking the first might be Nikolai, but it's not.

If you look it antagonizes the assassins and glorifies the templars.

It was meant to show Ubis- AHEM I mean Abstergo placing the underdog in the good guys position
