Also, interesting couple of facts of the day: One of the most famous paintings of Napoleon is of him standing in his study - the very room this scene took place in. It was painted by J-L David, who also painted the picture of the dead Marat in his bath tub, so we meet him in a murder mystery.
"In 1792, Bonaparte infiltrated Palais des Tuileries in order to acquire an Apple of Eden that had been placed in a chest and hidden in a secret vault by Louis XVI of France in the latter's study. Bonaparte successfully retrieved the artifact with the help of the Assassin Arno Dorian. However, Dorian was oblivious to Bonaparte's finding the artifact as the latter quickly pocketed it as soon as Dorian turned around from the letters he was holding. The two then escaped the Palace with the help of Bonaparte's soldiers."
I guess it was the apple all along....well i'll be....
THE Apple? ^^
You are aware there are a LOT of different pieces of Eden, right?
Ok, I will go further in the explanation. Yes, that detail is important, especially when you look further into the plot.
Because it hints at a few importants facts:
-First, Napoleon knew or at least heard about the pieces of Eden prior to that. It's very possible it was what he was precisely looking for.
-Second, it explains why Napoleon was such a gifted strategist. Just like Leonardo became a true genius after exposure to the Apple, and just as many great persons over history had the same thing happpening after coming into contact with different pieces.
-Third, the whole DLC is pretty much Napoleon looking for an other piece of Eden.
-Four, after the completition of the game, the piece of Eden Arno gets is sent to Egypt. Soon after chronogically Napoleon is mysteriously in charge of the Egyptian campaign. Coincidence? Of course not. Napoleon is obviously trying to get his hands on it after having tracked it down. He probably even know of the existence of others, and maybe of the relation between the Precursors and the old civilisations.
