Does CO OP work?

ok so, i love the game, it's got it's issues.. but whatever.
How exactly does CO OP work? maybe im doing something wrong but i can never seem to find players.
I go to the map, hover over a CO OP mission, press "Play Online" and than it takes me back into the game and a timer starts.
iv'e waited for that timer to get too 10 minutes before giving up, so.. my question is, am i doing something wrong? or is it broken?
i go to the menu, click "play togeather" and it takes me to a loading screen saying "please wait" and it never loads.

For the record, i got 100mbps cable broadband.

It is working for me. Make sure to open 13000, 14000, 14008 in your router and also try turning off your windows firewall temporarily and see if that works. If turning off the firewall works, you can add acu.exe to allowed programs in the firewall settings. It is the funnest part of the game so you do want to figure out how to do it. You can expand the search when it prompts you to (like hold back button and then it will prompt for hitting "A" on a 360 controller). Sometimes I have to expand the search to find ones to play.

Join a level 5 heist "It belongs in a museum"... Make a huge amount of money even if you have a pistol by luring and sniping them with it. If you can't get to the chest on the 1st try or it gets too difficult, just restart checkpoint.

There, no need for helix points or even microtransaction now that we can farm money ingame.

for me it is not working. get the invite for a coop game but there is no way to accept it.. not in game and not in uplay launcher... because in uplay launcher i only get the button "DECLINE" haha very funny screwbisoft

Demilitarized Zone... when you´ve got a router you´re behind that router and protected from everything outside, nearly all routers have got a hardware firewall and do not route network packages directly to your pc... when doing so what shelby suggested, you are no longer protected and a target to every hacker from outside, because you are putting your pc in front of your router.... would not advise to do that m8...

To some people, coop doesnt work at all..

To some people like me, COOP works perfectly, very fast without any problems...

did you try to just do a vauge coop search insted of a specific one ? what i mean insted of clicking on a certain mission you go into the pause menu then go to play toghether and click play online another thing to check is if the game it self is online the way to check this is going to my brother hood then clubs if it says go online then your not and you will have to restart the game and uplay

I also couldn't connect to ubisoft servers but I managed to fix this by doing the following:

-erase assassin's creed unity from my allowed applications in windows firewall
-start the game and close it from the menu
-click cancel In the windows firewall prompt that asks you to allow the program

Doing this fixed my issue but of course it could be a totally different problem from the one you guys are facing.

first thing i checked was the firewall, but i havent opened my ports yet, cheers for the info.
iv'e never seen this prompt for the expand search option though :/

I'm not getting any of these options hey, i go to the menu, play togeather, and there's no "play online" it literally ends there, after i hit play togeather nothing happens.

I never use windows firewall, it's off as a default.
but ACU.exe is allowed through my Firewall.

I'm not getting any of these options hey, i go to the menu, play togeather, and there's no "play online" it literally ends there, after i hit play togeather nothing happens.

I don't need to port forward to join other people's games. It's only vital when you are hosting a server, which you aren't as you are using Ubisoft's server for a peer to peer instance.
