gear hack upgrades

What are the hack upgrades as opposed to the normal upgrades you can do on gear? It's not really clear.

Helix points are the cashshop points for people that don't have "Time" to devote to AC:U to properly upgrade their gear.

They offer nothing different, just a shortcut for incredibly impatient people.
Just finish out the Cafe missions and renovate all the social clubs and you'r done (Just do like 2 Five star heist missions and you have enough for all of it)

No, ignore the helix points.
You get an insane amount of revenue in your chest for renovating everything and finishing out the quick missions for the Theatre.

Helix Rifts are small data gathering missions that don't reward you with HP, And you only get access to 2 before 50% of the campaign is done.

Only 3, actually.

You've got livres, which is the standand money count with which you can buy replenishable items, some armor and weapons and Cafe upgrades.

Then you have Creed points, which are rewarded for doing Assassin things such as get kills, vanish from a fight or even parrying. With these you can upgrade your armor and weapons.

And finally there's Helix points, which are a currency bought with actual money, which can unlock any armor/weapon and upgrade. It can also provide other bonuses in the form of showing every collectible on the map and providing various skill boosters.

Your Sync points are used for leveling up skills, and they're gained from co-op/storyline missions. THIS IS NOT A CURRENCY. In the RPG element they're known as skill points.
