Maybe a strange question... How do you heal?

The controls say Q is Use a life potion. I have 5 'life potions'. When you press Q a small quickbar comes up and the potion icon flashes briefly, but you don't drink it.

Is this a bug? A poorly ported control problem? Game isn't clear on how to actually use the potion control wise.

That's it you've been healed, no potion drinkin' animation, no time for that cause soldiers can finish you very quickly.
