Game NOT "Open world CO-OP"
For a game titled "Unity" with 4 players on the title image it amazes me that it is in fact advertised with "Great CO-OP!" Yet its ONLY "CO-OP" Missions.

Only CO-OP MISSIONS!

I knew this for a long time, I didn't buy the game because of it, it just gets me how they take advantage of people who will take their world for it and assume that great CO-OP will be had with this game. (Its just dull missions) Nothing compared to the fun we could have in mind if it was fully open world as we expect FarCry 4 to be.

A let down to say the least from a game called "Unity" ha...

EDIT: Or is it? Apparently people in the comments have informed be it may in fact be open world, surely the wording in their advertisment videos could express this more clearly instead of focussing on "Special CO-OP mission 'mode'" - Implying that its just the typical " Join to play this mission " type of CO-OP we had in Farcry 3. - For comparing, the videos for Farcry 4 made it VERY CLEAR that it was in fact open world.

Why would you want an open world Co-op? The game is designed for one player and never really challenges you enough to have multiple people unless the Co-op mission is selected. You Can go anywhere in the world in the co-op mission anyways. Most people do...for some reason.

Asking me why I want open world CO-OP is a little bit silly is it not? Clearly the game was designed for single player, AC always has. The fact that its marketed as "Unity" is the funny part.

Some of us have close friends and family and really enjoy CO-OP, we also enjoy "OPEN WORLD" so we can have our own adventures, not a limited scene even if you can just walk away and be limited as the the interactions of the players afterwords.

As for "Well it couldn't happen, the game isn't challenging enough or has content to be enjoyed" This is just false, Looking back on blackflag it would be great to have a fleet of 4 ships, or ship mates on one ship! attacking the enemy. Add a little development to add even more content and you could create all kinds of possibly adventures for people to freely take on using their imagination. As for difficulty, how about an adjustable difficulty setting? Sounds easy enough. - From a marketing standpoint I almost can't understand WHY they didn't do this, instead they thought enough people would assume it had open world co-op purly from its advertisments showing limited CO-OP play from a game called "Unity"

In my case, they aren't getting my money OR the other 3 copies I would ahve bought for my friends and family!

You want a open world Co-op in a singleplayer world? To do what exactly? Everything you can choose to do in a co-op mission? O.o. I am confused by this.

because all open world games should have free roam co-op. Whats better than playing a single player game? playing that game with someone. unless ur an introvert. look at Splinter Cell for example. Its story is single player but u can play CO-OP through the entire game. Its not anything new.

Simple Answer to a poor question. - To do anything you would have done in single player, but with friends! Your question could have been "Well why do you need open world" ? ha...

99% of my time in any AC game is exploring the world on my own, not lame missions holding my hand.

Not a fanboy, speaking rationally actually. The game is open world and doesn't offer much to do in ways of anything that would involve more than one person. Would they help you solve a mystery? Perhaps look for the signs together? You aren't suppose to be noticed as someone susipicious in the game. Multiple people running around the lines in a building would raise some eyes during a assassination, don't you think?

In anycase, the game lets you do enough in the Co-op missions, and even lets you explore the free world to boot. Not even GTA 5 let you do Co-op single, you had to make a new char to do it. That is what this game did, it doesn't limit you in your Co-op mission, you can literally go and loot every chest, do every sync point within that co-op world, but you will have the mission on your screen, unless you turn it off on your hud.

You don't get the point.. you don't need to "solve a mystery" as CO-OP! In fact its not what we want what we want is open world CO-OP to explore the world Togther, its the purpose for CO-OP in Farcry 4 as we wanted, minecraft, and GTA 5 in which you can still own property and play in an open living world, one that doesn't disappear once the "mission" is over. (GTA PC version when it comes out that is)

Just because there is no "border" so to speak ( according to you ) doesn't mean its "fully open world CO-OP" Not if its all useless in the end. We want everything single player offers (we'll compromise on main missions) with friends - That's it. Like farcry 4 for example. - to persistently save our progress together.

Looks pretty open world co-op to me, they don't have a mission until they go and pick up one at 2:35.
Patriot03 Nov 12, 2014 @ 3:40pm
^ IS this true? does it diconnect them after the mission they seemingly got together at one point ends? Does the game save a friend's progress when they leave and join? Can you accept a player to join your world at any time?

Can they upgrade their equipment in the same world?

PS: I did see something concerning in the video, the NPCs are not in the same locations on eachothers screens, unless I get confirmation that this is fixed I would not consider purchasing this game. - These types of things REALLY annoy me, combat must be a mess..

Where is fanboying in my quote? You little sped. Co-op is a huge part of gaming. Have you never played a single game with another person?

I wasn't talking to you tough guy, I was refering to the people who were saying there is no need for CO-OP. ( Hint: I was agreeing with you )

No, you don't disconnect after a mission, one person starts a group, up to 4 people. Those people load into group leadrs world. Single player missions disappear from map, and players can explore the entire map without having to be near eac other. Leader says, "Wanna do a mission?" "Sure" Accepts mission. People play mission. Mission ends. Continue to run around.

Go ahaed and keep talking about the game like you've already beat it tho

Yes you can invite your friends into your world at any time, I don't know what happeneds when they're in your game as far as upgrading equipment and progress saving, etc.
