How the heck do I fix Vsync on AMD?
Good grief, I've tried everything! Tried forcing Vsync through the CCC panel, tried forcing triple buffering through Radeonpro, tried D3D overrider...but this game is serious about not working properly on AMD hardware.

Borderless/Vsync can eat up to ten fps when activated. It jumps from 30 to 60 fps all the time. Turning it off gives me a huge boost but then I get the insuffurable tearing.

Is there anyway I can win against this game?

Force vsync on through CCC. Then turn it on ingame then restart game and see if that works.

Tried that, not luck, it still jumps from 30 to 60 fps.

Um. all vsync does is locked the games max fps to ur monitor's refresh rate. Thus getting rid of screen tearing. If u have vsync on and game is jumping between 30-60 fps then welcome to the club along with everyone else with this game. Takes massive PC with settings either at high or ultra to push solid 60 fps.

I average at around 40~60 fps with Vsync off. I'm using a R9 290 and FX 8350 CPU so it can't be attributed to low spec hardware.
This game only supports crappy double buffered Vsync and what I'm trying to do is force triple buffering. I can do that with AC Black Flag via Radeonpro, but it doesn't work on Unity.

I just want to mitigate the lows so the gameplay it smoother while avoiding the abominably atrocious screen tearing I'm getting with Vsync off.
Nvidia users appear to have fixed this by forcing adaptive sync on the nvidia control panel...what are the chances of AMD cards getting a similar fix?

Unless AMD fixes it very slim chance we will see Ubisoft fix it.

Try D3DOverrider. Just Google it to dl. It's included with rivatuner and you will find it in the Riva tuner install folder after u install it. Works fine with my R9 290. Nvidia triple buffering only works for OpenGL so I use D3DOverrider on my 970 as well. Always play with vsync on since I hate screen tearing. D3DOverrider is a must with vsync on if the game don't support triple buffering. Hope this helps :)
