Borderless Window mode not working properly
Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone else was having this issue. Everytime I change the settings to Borderless Windowed, I get giant black bars on the sides and a tiny stretched image in the middle. This is at 1080p. I tried changing around other settings like aspect ration (auto or 16:9) resolution, refresh rate, vsync .. and nothing helped. When I set it to fullscreen, it works fine.

I'm also having this problem with borderless window and running the game on windows 8.1 with gtx 770 and the latest nvidia drivers 344.65.

Yeah, I'm also on the latest nvidia drivers and windows 8.1. I have a gtx980.

having this issue as well. I'm going to roll back drivers and see if that helps anything. The last couple of "game ready" drivers have been less than impressive, so i'll let you know what happens

Yeah please let us know if that does fix things. It's weird that not many people seem to be reporting this problem.

no dice. doing some more research. returned GPU clock to factory as well; that didn't do anything either. Seems like it isn't registering the resolution though. When you change resolution in game it doesn't flicker at all or resize. Thoughts?

Yeah the resolution part seems bugged too. It'll reset itself to some low resolution setting sometimes, but it's clearly still outputting 1080p. Same goes for the refresh rate. I thought it was fraps or MSI afterburner so I turned those off to check just now, but that didn't help. I'll post here if I ever find a solution, but I've just been playing the game on fullscreen for now.

Have you turned off "stretching"?

Yeah I have tried turning that on and off, but didn't make a difference.

Yeah I have tried turning that on and off, but didn't make a difference.

Did you also go into your gpu panel and see if you're ticking off the overscan or underscan? I'm not sure what Nvidia calls it. Whatever you use in the Nvidia CC to control proper scanning of your resolution you're trying to use. That may or may not work. Just an idea.

overscan/underscan wouldn't affect this. All that does is scale the resolution. we would see a change in the X as well as the Y variable, but instead all we are seeing is a change in the X. If I had to guess, i would say that it is trying to render 1920x1080 in a 400x1080 box. Called ubisoft by the way. their techs have reported it to the higher-ups, but up till then he hadn't heard of anything like that

Thanks for the info and for contacting them. I wish more people that have this problem would share some info so maybe we can track down the problem.

I'm guessing this is an Nvidia problem. I too am also having this issue. But I have a GTX 680 on Windows 8.1 64bit with the latest driver.

Same issue windows 7 GTX 980 latest driver.

Same, Win 8.1

Running SLI GTX 770 sc's with latest drivers on 8.1

Borderless window mode has actually solved my crashing/freezing problem thus far. I wasn't able to play more than a few minutes without it freezing my whole system - forcing me to shut down and restart. Even on low low settings though I still can't get more than 40fps and its very laggy when running or during combat. Guess ill just sit tight and wait for a patch. Not sure what else to do.
