So, is it Really Going to be 50GB?
Just wondering. Is that an estimated file size? Or is what Steam shows for hard drive space pretty accurate?

If it is, I'll need to free up some space. Even though I have a 2TB hard drive, it will fill up fast if I don't keep it cleaned up.

It will probably end up being 40-45 gigs downloaded, but you need at least 50 to install it.
I suspected as much. There is one game I can unistall to make room, and that particular game is CoD: Ghosts. I haven't played it that much since I bought it, and its not even my favorite CoD. Waste of space at this point. It takes up exactly 33.5GB of space, over half of AC Unity!

This may be slightly off topic, but can you believe CoD: AW is at least a 50GB install?! And it doesn't look nearly as good as Unity (graphics wise)! As an example, BF4 takes up less the 25GB as the base game to install. Where the heck is AW getting that extra 25GB? Crazy!

If games get any bigger, I'll have to start thinking about a larger hard drive soon.

Dude if titanfall had a 50 GB download and the game was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad as hell and 30 GB was just for audio files....

It's called next gen. New consoles have a system of uninstalling games to make room for new games, so devs could care less. That 25gb is uncompressed audio in several different languages with a few gigabytes of junk data left in.

PC gamers shouldn't complain, though. I'm sure our pal Ubisoft™ would just assure us to buy more hard drives. We're going to need room for all that exclusive day one Assassin’s Creed® Unity dlc.

Yes it will be 50 GB,we are talking about next-gen game man :)

50 GB was a lot like 2-3 years ago. Several games requires 50 GB today :P
Personally, I have 2x2 TB and an 120GB SSD, so I'm all ready for their space-requirements :P
today's generation, you need alot of hardrive if you want to install your favourite new games at the same time >.< i got 3 , 1 tera byte hard drive for my personal stuff ofc including videos, games and other ♥♥♥♥ xDD

I can smell your sarcasm. Stoarage is cheap nowadays, at least for regular hard drives. My 2TB Seagate Barracuda only cost me 90 dollars, with tax made it about 98.

I'm not here to complain, I was just wowed at how much GB it will take up. At least I'll be using up space on a game that actually looks better AND will play better than Ghosts.

I own several 1 and 2 terabyte hard drives laying around because they are so cheap. That doesn't mean devs should waste space and get lazy.

I have no doubt the game will look great (assuming rumors are false, and Ubisoft doesn't purposely cut out lighting, and lock it to thirty because Sony and Microsoft paid them to do so.) However, this game is not 50gb of graphics and effects. It's 20-25gb of uncompressed audio, with 25gb of game remaining.

American internet is at a third world level so devs getting liberal with space can really ♥♥♥♥ over some people. I probably wouldn't be as annoyed with the size as I am if the preload came yesterday or today.
all future aaa titles well be around 30 to 50gigs after xbox one and ps4 100gig to 150gigs get used to it, been playing in the 90s games were about 10megs now its over 50gigs today.

Well the reasoning Titanfall had was pretty good, About 33GB's of audio, yes, the reason for that was that all the audio given to the player was, for the most part, uncompressed which meant that all the music, all the sound effects were the best quality possible at the time of creation. I wasn't disappointed, though I'm sure some were, the audio was about half my experience in the game, so I figure half the install is fair enough.

Still, the inclusion of a horde based co-op mode isn't enough to entice me back into the game.

Lucky for me I bought it retail, so all I have to wait for is a 20-25 minute install and it will be ready to go. If I can, that's one of the reasons I still like to buy retail. My internet is so slow, it would take 4+ days to download with my internet speed, if I am lucky, and that's all day, all night too!

I live on a dirt road with crappy DSL from verizon. I am paying for 1Mbps, but it hardly ever is. It hovers around 100 to 150Kbps, which SUCKS!

Funny enough, I have a 4G LTE Verizon moble hotspot that I use for online gaming. I get great LTE coverage from Verizon for my hotspot, but no good in-ground internet, and I only live 5 min from the main part of town. -_-

I may only get 10GB of data, but I use it strictly to game online, no heavy downloads or else it would be used up in a week. If I have to do any downloading, the DSL is what I use. No data caps, but slow speed.

Problem is, Verizon doesn't want to spend millions just to cover another two dozen people, so internet is sparce. However, satellite internet is available, but that's out of the question. High pings abound if I had that in my house. lol

I stopped buying retail do to space in my home and Steam sales; however, with games sizes getting unnecessarly large I may switch back to ordering hard copies off Amazon.

Right now I pay $70 a month for 100 to 300 KB/s due to getting locked into a really garbage contract till february. It's only recently better options have popped up in my city, and it's only in my city. Everyone in surrounding areas is still on services comparable to dial up.

The only benefit of my ISP and other ISPs around here is that they have stopped charging for bandwidth usage.

Well, at least bandwidth isn't monitored for you. What is your average ping? The DSL I have only averages a DL speed of 70 to 100Kbps, which is no where near enough to not lag in a game. And, I kid you not, my ping on the DSL is upwards of 500-700 ping, EVERYDAY! Since I'm not the only one using the DSL, with a family of four, the ping is probably higher.

Hence why I use the hotspot. Solid 80-100 ping all day long. On the plus side, I am the only one using the device since I pay for that myself.
