Ridiculous regional pricing of the game
From now on we can buy many Steam games that have the price of $59.99 with our currency (89 Turkish Liras) in our country (may God be pleased with Gabe).

But the price of AC: Unity is 179 TL (converts to about $80), which is the most expensive price of the game for the whole world.

And it's also same for Far Cry 4. What's wrong with you guys? What's wrong with you Ubi?

That's totally lame! Sorry you have to be stuck with the worst price.

Yup, same here.

Gold edition is 79,99 euros for me, converts to about 100 USD
Basic edition goes for 59,99 euros, converts to about 77 USD

Your 179 TL converts to about 79 USD, assuming that's the price for the basic version.
So yeah, you get shafted by about 3-4 dollars.

Then again, you need to account for local tax and conversion rates, so that may be a big factor in the price difference.

Does anybody know what the game in Australia goes for?
It's usually the Aussies who get shafted the most when it comes to games due to their rediculous tax.

Anyway, usually price difference across regions is not something the developer can influence.
The price tag itself is still steep to begin with though, that's for sure.

Hear, hear. I like AC and FC series and mostly buy them day one because Ubi's prices were reasonable for Turkey.
Early this year they gone nuts and doubled AAA title prices and now this. Tsk tsk...

Ridiculous indeed, when I saw Witcher 3 for 71 liras (32-33 dollars) I said ''oh sweet, this pricing change is actually nice.''

I went to ACU page for pre-order because it'd be like 85-90 liras then i saw this. -.-

Really ubisoft ? Really ?

Well, right now the prices of ubisoft aaa titles are the most expensive prices for the world i think. Look, even Australia has cheap price than us.

The thing that bothers me the most, is that the base price in EURO and USD is the same.
Both are set at 59,99.

However, when converting the price, you see that the game is actually a about 7 dollars more expensive in the Eurozone.
I hate how retailers always sell at EURO =/= USD on a 1:1 conversion.

Stop it! Our currency does not have the same value!

But as I said before, I do not know if that 7 dollar difference is due to local taxes and whatnot.
Still, pretty suspecious about the game being priced EXACTLY 59,99 in both regions.

Personally, I don't care about AC-FC series but this pricing is completely unacceptable.
Either fix it or don't cry like "turks are pirates blahblahblah"...
Fenacio Oct 22, 2014 @ 6:16am
It's so ridiculous. Why would i pay the standart game 80 dollars while i can buy it from local retailers, collecters edition, for 90 dollars?

They should arrange the pricing or i don't think there is even a single person will buy AC:U or FC 4 from steam.
Neloth Oct 23, 2014 @ 10:15am
It's same for 2K games, why are they doing like that? Nobody buy these games from Steam.
ThisCatStreams Oct 23, 2014 @ 10:20am
Better to try and buy outside Steam or some where local to your country.

All sources report that today 1 USD is 2.24 TL.

Originally Unity's cost is 59.99 USD. That makes 134 TL (rounded down) when converted. Steam Store reports Unity's cost is 179 TL, the difference is 45 TL. That means we, Turkish players, are forced to pay 33% more if we want to buy the game from Steam. There is no tax in this price either; the following is what I see when I try to pre-purchase:

Subtotal: 179,00 TL
Tax: 0,00 TL
Total: 179,00 TL

Thanks, but no. I have more than enough patience to wait for a year or more for the prices to go down to normal levels. Or maybe I'll simply buy the novelization for 30 TL at a local bookstore, I don't think I'll miss much unless the story is different.

Is anyone there?

This price difference is because of a greedy distributor of boxed games based in Turkey. Ubisoft cooperated with them to force Turks to buy the game from them and local retailers...
This is same for 2K Games, Take 2 interactive, square enix.. They doubled their price and matched the distributors prices. While the prices were first at 30 to 40 usd, now it is around 80.
Lovely isnt it, how they back up eachother... <3 <3
I dont hate the boxed game distributor for high prices, i just hate how these publishers can block you from buying games cheaper even though they knew the highest price was 60 dollars before the turkish lira update.

Ubisoft's teaming with local greedy retailers (who are selling the game 33% more expensive) makes me want to wait until the game is sold for $5.

59 € = 164 TL
59 $ = 131 TL

AC Unity : 59 € / 59 $ / 179 TL
Far Cry 4 : 59 € / 59 $ / 179 TL

COD AW :59 € / 59 $ / 99 TL
