I would add one tiny, but yet stupid things (for me) - buying and having limited throwable money pouches? LOL? :/
To the story and sidemissions - i am amazed how main campaign story could end like this, i sort of expected something at Ezio trilogy level or better ... :/. And it is funny as those Paris stories just do what should be in the main story. I feel it like if someone plays only main AC story he literally robs himself rest half of game, half of things which make that game world richier and much colorful.
I am two sequences from end of main story and i feel i maybe would enjoy story more when i know much more about French revolution, but i am not sure as i found main story a bit odd and flat :/.
IMO, if you read Elise's last letter to Arno it makes the ending feel much better, or at least not as....strange.
I myself agree with most of the review, just some nitpicks here adn there but I guess it comes down mostly to taste, in regards to performance though, I think I have to disagree when you mention the crowds not being THAT bad, for me they ended up being THAT bad, and worse, I just hate the crowds, just as you said they break any immersion I could get, I often like to walk from objective to objective and just enjoy the sights in every AC game, specially in those little fishing villages in AC IV, but man, I feel the people of Paris are a total disaster, what's the point in having 5000 NPCs on screen if 500 of them look exactly the same? not to mention their glitched animations, their power to morph and change their clothes in front of you, the atrocious way in which they can spawn right in front of you at any given time...I really didn't like that at all, to me, the best they could do for future installments is take out the Crowds...they also constantly get in the way, I guess I just can't stress enough how much I disliked the huge crowds. (Don't get me wrong, I feel they worked in some places, but more often than not, I'd run into a big crowd shouting at a stale, white wall...yeah, long live the revolution. I feel they make Notre Dame all that much interesting though).
Aside from that, as I said, mostly nitpicks, (mostly in regards to side missions and the new combat) but hey, nice review overall, you should say something more about stealth which IMO, is pretty broken for the most part.
Yes as I said for the crowds, they could be cut in half and It would be better for me.For the glitches I was thinking about other glitches besides the crowds, as I explain the glitched LOD of crowd a cople of sentences before. As for the stealth, I dont feel like it plays a significant part in this game. Not only do you have LESS OR BARELY any mission requiring stealth, but the stealth mechanic is still down to hide or cover. moving around while crouching is not a significant factor. (that affect the game lay ina positive or negative fashion).
Someone could argue that it affect the gameplay in a sens where it lowers the difficulty level since very few mission dont allow you to get detected. Then again other peopl ewill tell you that auto-fail mission condition (like being detected) gives them less freedom and that they juste prefer to have more guard rushing to them by the alarms than having a desync due to failing mission condition.
In the end the stealth mechanic (crouching) could be taken out and I would still have enjoy the game the same way. using mostly the other stealthy means.
