- Relay on smoke bombs (aiming to the place where you want to throw it, you do it holding the button instead of pressing it, a lot of people I see playing usually miss that), and using quick-shots from the phantom blade. That way you can combo stealth kills.
- Use bombs to make noise and make them look where you want them to look. You can kill a group if they are looking to the right place.
- Always locate and kill the shooters as soon as you can, as they can see above and below their altitude, also the far they can see you is equal to the range of your equiped gun or rifle (it's kind of illogical, but it makes it easier), so as soon as they can see you, just go a step back, aim to him with your gun and walk ahead until in range, or just be fast aiming as soon as they see you.
- Take advantage of your last known location, this is your main tool for attracting enemies to your position. Let them see you until red indicator shows, and just hide behind a wall or wherever, when they are close enough, just kill them.
- If your objective allows you to avoid conflict or killing by just blending with the multitude, just do it. It's cool to kill every guard in a fortress and just go away, but sometimes the best way to go is avoid any killing. Coin bags can be useful for that.
- Berserk blades will make you gain some advantage sometimes, but you will have to wait until the conflict has ended, so it's not the best of the solutions. Luckily, a second berserk blade will kill the enemy, stoping the conflict.
- Crouch. It's a really simple advice, BUT: Crouch even when you are running. If you hold the crouch button while running, you will avoid jumping on tables, chairs, and so on, making you gain precission. While you hold it you won't be able to start climbing either.
- When an enemy is isolated, sometimes it's worth to approach him running fast and kill him in high profile than aproaching him while crouching. If the distance is short enough, even if he is looking at your direction you can kill him before a conflict starts.
- Mastering and practice with all the skills and situations will make you flow a lot more and make you faster but sometimes you will just have to be patient.
From what I can tell, choice is the point. The tools are there but its often not a necessity. Which imo is good and choice of approach is something the series went into more & more with the unity and the titles after.
