Was kinda cool. Dunno if there was an easier way to do it or if this will help in your case, but that's the kind of oddity I found myself doing more frequently than I would have hoped.
In Black Flag - you can Whistle to get their attention. In Unity, they give you fire crackers, but to use them you have to throw them like a smoke bomb, then try to get back into hiding before they come. For some dumb reason, I couldn't get back into the cabinet (it wouldn't let me in) and I get spotted. So like with most things, there are other ways to approach... just hate the extra hassle at times.
Oh I understand... but mashing a key 50 million times is not good on a keyboard, DEV's shouldn't make games like that... I can't play their games if my keyboard or controller is broken due to button mashing!
The mashing was when I was on the Roof tossing it up with the other Assassin... with Keyboard it wants you to mash "E" like a thousand times. I had to let go of the Mouse and just really mash it fast and hard to get it to progress; and I have an advanced system and keyboard so was pretty upset about having to do that to my equipment. But I tried the lower rez solution and that didn't work. I basically was throwing 2 complaints into 1 post.
Either troll or seek doctor.
I played through all of the AC games (and also Dark Souls Elden Ring etc) without ever breaking a keyboard...
and that is the case for 99% of the players, I would guess.
