ACU.exe has stopped working
So I guess I can now be added to the list of people who are experiencing this issue, which is something I am not happy about because I have had this game for about 2 years now with zero issues, up until a couple of days ago when this issue occurs. I can get into the main menu but as soon as I click continue the game crashes. I have tried A TON of solutions including

-Veryify the game cache
-Running the game as administrator
-Disabling both the steam and uplay in game overlay
-Reinstalling the game
-Running in compatability mode for windows 7
-Running in borderless window
-Disabling custom frame rate (I have the game capped at 45 fps using nvidia inspector)
-Disabling SLI/Crossfire

As mentioned above I even tried reinstalling the game as I figured maybe a file got corrupted but now the game crashes during the intro scene! Literally never had this issue before which makes me more confused than angry I guess. My specs are dual gtx 980s, windows 10, and i7 5820k in case that helps at all.

I would really appreciate any more suggestions you guys have as Unity is my 2nd favorite Assassin's Creed aside from Black Flag and have been enjoying it so much up until now. I am also not "too" computer intelligent so try to be just a little bit detailed in your response.

I hope I can count on you guys

I have this same problem. Game worked fine for me for a good long while, no issues up until recently. If I delete the save game and start over, game runs fine. Until I exit the game and attempt to go back to continue. Everytime I attempt to continue the game crashes.

My thoughts is it's something to do with Windows 10. I never had this issue on Windows 7 but I'm not about to go back to Windows 7 just for one game... The fact that deleting the save causes the game to function leads me to believe that perhaps the saves are being corrupted but idk how or why.

Problem solved. Disabling SLi allowed me to get into the game, crash free.

Idk why I didn't think of this sooner...

I really hope that sli is not the culprit. The game runs like ♥♥♥♥ for me on just one card

That didint work either. WTF XD
I have the same problem, but I think it is nVidia driver's problem.

Have you tried renaming XAudio2_7.dll in Ubisoft Game Launcher folder, system32 folder and syswow64 folder? Mine would just simply close without an error until I did that. Keep in mind that when you rename them the game won't start. So, open up Uplay before you rename the one in the Ubisoft Game Launcher folder. Then it should start just fine. This solved the issue for me at least.

This may not work in your case since your issue is a little different, but worth a try, right? :p

just to build up the reports, mine same issues with ACU and Rogue. ACS works ok. not rolling back drivers as this brings other issues, fingers crossesd UBI and Nvidia sort things out on next driver update.
