Any way to reduce the number of civilians?
Totally loving the game and the crowded streets of Paris. But it is proving to be much for my relatively average system. I have a i5-2500k (@3500), 8 gigs of ram and GTX 970 and I am dipping in low 40s constantly, causing too much choppiness for my taste. I am using high settings at the moment.

I think the problem is civilians. Anytime an area is scarce in people (not completely empty), I get constant 60 and the game looks gorgeous with those blooms and shadows.

I wish there was an option to adjust the number of civilians as in GTA series. I remember reading a build of someone here who adjusted the civilian number through an ini file. Do you recommend such a thing, and also is there any sources? Google didn't give me results about this.

Don't believe there is one. Your best bet is to lower the overall graphics quality.

Ok I found this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/289650/discussions/0/618457398972494286/

Adding the following to my ini file definitely helped me go from a choppy 40-60 into a very stable 50-60 territory:

LODBlend=0
DistanceLODEnabled=1
DistanceLOD=2
SmallObjectsCullDistanceModifier=5
MediumObjectsCullDistanceModifier=5
Layers=0
MaxNPCLODLevel=0
ShadowMapSize=128
[Performance]
MaxNumNPCs=60

You could lower the graphics without having to dive into the files. If you're running on high and getting low 40s (Which isn't even that bad, I've got 20FPS max, lucky bastard.) running it on low should probably fix it.
