Biggest Flop in the AC franchise?
This game is just more of the same, as a fan im bored that every game looks the same and is basically the same. They could change the time periods to say caveman times or the future but it seems they just use the same period over and over again. I read on other forums this AC is the biggest failure yet in the franchise and may spell the end of ubisoft.

The thread starter is a special needs kid. All the AC games aside from the Ezio serious that were meant to continue his story like expansions brought something completely different to the table. They aren't going to go the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ future you idiot because the combat system is based around steel and melee weapons. A combat system that to me never gets old.

Best Flip in teh AC franchise?

yes i think so. this should be statement 'AC'.. funny how every`1 says theyre just cyninaclly pumping theom out. this one will reveal..........alllllllll.
I like AC games, I dont care if they "pump" them out, but at least change up where it takes place, rehashing the same time period over and over was getting old before now its just worn out. Throw us a bone as gamers, specially fans, we may like the game but doing the SAME game over and over, isnt fun for anyone fan or not.

Dude, I had no idea that Rome, Paris, The middle east, North American, constantinople, and the caribean were all the same place? You must be geniuuuuuuus.

Yes, so after checking the map. I'm pretty sure none of these are in the same place or are the same setting.

"Rome, Paris, The middle east, North American, constantinople, and the caribbean"

Just kidding, I didn't have to check the map. I'm not a tool like the OP.

This is what I was thinking some visually distinct era as opposed to the same thing again in a diff time period. I would bet anyone even the animations are going to be recycled from the last game which recycled them from the last, so on, and so forth. Pacific Islands would be great since it could keep a naval component. Kinda sad thinking about how the new AC is stripped down with so many gameplay elements removed. Im more playing a wait and see approach with this new AC. It doesnt seem to offer anything new, even reading posts in this thread, most seem to rely heavily on the coop aspect, but the settings animations and all still sorta seem the same.

I think its more that from what Ive seen as a fan I feel like Ive played this game before multiple times. Without anything new, such as the major expansion of naval combat in AC4 I just dont see that much attracting me as a fan outside of how it looks like lots of stuff I already did. It would be nice as others said if eliminating targets went back to multiple approaches instead of being so linear its just annoying. That would def sell me on the game, if anyone has info on that please share.

Diving further into what Flint Cole touched on, freedom and 'creating your own opportunities' is very clearly the biggest focus of this particular installment. Apparently every Assassination will be a 'Black Box' mission, giving you the freedom to handle each assassination your own way, and plan it out as much as you want before you execute it and your target.

For Ubisoft, this is a fresh start for Assassin's Creed. They realized that the series has skewed in a major way, and that it lost its identity, and Unity is their effort to cure this issue.
As a huge fan (this is my favorite series), I was honestly touched at the fact they realized these things and are listening to the fan feedback, and are doing something about it in a big way.

I highly recommend watching every released video on the game thus far (there's only like 5 or 6, really), so you can see and learn what Unity is really bringing to the table. There's much more than the technical upgrades (30,000 AI count, 1:1 scale of the city, higher graphical fidelity, etc), but in almost every video that features Ubisoft representatives or employees talking about the game, they always make it a point that they're going back to AC's roots. To me, that's very exciting.

I like that their returning to roots giving multiple ways to assassinate a tagrget. I worry their gonna mess that up. In other words the secondary objective for 100% sync may state the kill has to be done a specific way ruining any point in having multiple methods. I got a feeling they may screw this up. It would be great if they showed a demo of a mission from start to finish, have they done that yet? Companies confident in their product do I havent seen one for this game yet.

Looks like ubisoft still uses computers from the 1960s, the HUD UI is in 4:3 its not even tucked in the corners. Its like their not even trying. Looks like the same types of enemies, reg soldier, the brutes and guessing same animations.

its nice that we have freedom to do the missions, but ubisoft got rid of leaving feedback which is sad that they hate gamers at ubisoft. Gamers are a big part of their customer base, ubisoft should listen to gamers instead of rejecting them.

I just don't understand how people can be so ignorant. The game isn't even released yet and I don't recall seeing any reviews from people who have played the game. How can you judge a game before it is even released?

Just because someone posted that it is the biggest failure yet doesn't make it true and someone that calls it the worst is just an idiot because they haven't played the game. Anyways you won't find a legitimate answer here either because no one here knows that it is going to be a flop because again they haven't played it. People might claim that it will be, but there is as good of a chance that it will be the most fun game in the series as the chance that it will be the worst.

I personally think that this game has a chance to be very good. Gigantic map, beautiful city, co-op, more challenging combat, complete assassin customization, a better climbing system. The fact that it uses an old engine, will run uPlay, or is made by Ubisoft aren't good enough reasons for me to be excited about this game. If anything, they have added multiple things that I have thought for years should be in the series. If are on the fence, then don't pre-order it, wait til legitimate performance and gameplay reviews are released.

Oh and, what do you mean they keep using the same time periods? Last that I checked, they hadn't used any multiple times.

They started in 1189 in the Holy Lands with Altair. Next was Ezio, 300 years later in Italy(among other places), after that was Connor, in the United States and then before/after him was Edward Kenway sailing the seas. The ONLY thing that they have in common is they are all in the past. Hence the Animus, the Animus doesn't predict the future or anything like that. It is for reliving memories and as long as the AC games revolve around the Animus, they will be in the past.
Oh, but it will be true, if you are a sane person and you used to buy previous AC titles, you should have noticed that after 2nd and in some ways Brotherhood it all went wrong, and the longer the agony goes the worse it becomes. Tendency declares the obvious expectations...
Devs simply ran out of ideas, the graphics are nothing spectacular, nice, but not the "next-gen" they like to talk so much about, I saw gameplay leaks and official presentations, this is going to be the same game with a bit more fluent animation.
And for the Love of GOD, stop talking about scale as if it means something! Sure if it's a GTA caliber game I'm sure that every inch of the world is there for a reason, but all Ubi games only create useless space with nothing to do, again as an experienced buyer you should have known better...
The only thing that I don't agree with in this thread is that it can't be the biggest flop, Ubi had so many that it's becoming hard to compare... Heroes, God why.. PoP... Watch_Dogs abomination... Seriously.
Oh and just to remind you how they operate long term-wise: SC Pandora tomorrow was a very good-looking game for its time, it had actual grass that reacted to Sam's movement, it had shaders almost ahead of all other games and so on... First game had ralistic curtains and shadow maps. In Blacklist we have drawn shadows and sprite-GTA3-like grass. GREAT improvement over time. Be prepared to see the same in AC.

I hate those invisible retarded walls they put in the game, their annoying and break immersion, I dont like how one second your in some boring past place and the next second your in the present with seemingly magic technology that doesnt exist. The lack of creativity always angered me in the AC franchise, for example Black Flag a game about being a pirate, it annoyed me the character didnt talk like a pirate also there were no mermaids or relationship building. Unity still has no relationship building or a female protagonist due to ubisoft's apparent hatred of women I suspect.

This was just a demo, they simply didn't show the feedback screen. They are bringing back the feedback option. Also, the hardware they use to showcase a demo is not a direct representation of their respect towards a medium. They're giving PC enough love to release the PC version simultaneously. That sounds like a step in the right direction to me when looking back to every other game that's been released by every developer for the past 10 years.

You see, creativity was flushed down you know what as soon as they realized the game is successful, as soon as they feel they've enough to feed fanboy audience they automatically stop carrying about casual gamers, about people who might be actually interested in the plot or just want to see at least slight improvement. All they do is replicate features "that are classic" according to some unknown force and explain how the game is going to be bigger in every regard. Unfortunatelly there is no depth neither in the plot nor in the gameplay...
I feel like I've wasted my time completely on this series, I played more than 6 games or whatever and I still have no idea where the plot is going... An I used to 100% all games and saw all the additional details. A complete WASTE. Don't repeat my mistakes.

You see, these games are based on history. Mermaids did not exist and pirates never talked "like a pirate." The pirate talk, eye patches, and parrots all originated in the book Treasure Island. Also I don't think that adding pirate talk or mermaids would help creativity. It'd give people ACTUAL reasons to criticize the games.
