I agree with this.
Now it looks like it's in fashion to sell games without specifying what kind of PC you need to run it... The witcher 3, Far cry 4 and AC unity etc. You can buy them but they'll tell you what the requirements are after release (when people starts reporting lag and fps drops etc. so they can have a better idea. That's how you test it nowdays).
At least in case of the Witcher they are taking their time in order to optimize the game so I genuinely believe they don't know what's min or what's reccomended yet.
But these two UBI games will be out in few months, are they still testing hardware or they don't want to scare away potential customers with demanding requirements?
A la' "buy the game now we know you want this! We'll let you know if you need a new machine to run it later on, but buy it now cos you want this!"
Isn't there a law or a regulation that forces software developers to specify the requirements of their softwares? It's that way for hard copy softwares and it used to be that way with digital copies. Ubi is a big multinational videogame developer, come on test it before you sell it!
If you want sell it then tell us what's needed to run it. You "don't know" then you can not sell this.
BTW "good job" to Steam for allowing this to happen
Best guess would be to look at the latest open-world Ubisoft Game (Watch Dogs) and guess a little more than that.
Watch Dogs is 13.9gb installed, even though the system requirements state you should have 25gb free.
could not agree more!!
That's because Uplay downloads a 10GB installer first before installing the 14GB game. 10GB + 14GB = 24GB
Just saying, how many AAA games release demos with their games? Not very many
