SO, It's been a while! What's up with the game?

If you didn't know, last year I wrote a blog detailing what I've done for act 2 so far (You can read it here.[levcstudio.com]) And while I've made great progress, most of it is stuff I can't really show without spoiling the surprise (which if you enjoy this kind of games, you'd know how important that is.) SO, this year I can't really do much outside of just saying "trust me, I'm still working on the game".

BUT DON'T WORRY, I HAVE A PLAN: My desire for this year is to finish Act 2 and invite people to playtest it!

Now, I'm sure you have many questions about how exactly I plan to release the full game. Well, I dunno. A lack of a kickstarter campaign, and only 2 occasional and infrequent patreon supporters, means that there's no financial incentive to work on the game. Heck, I don't even know if people will read this post! This is a labor of love.

The idea of "early access" seems appealing, but I also know I won't be able to provide frequent updates if the game has no audience to support it financially. So, one of my ideas is to have some sort of "playtesting event" to gather people test and play act 2 for free, and give feedback to make sure it is the best it can be. MAYBE, this will garner enough attention to make attempting a kickstarter or early access release a good idea. Or if anything, bring enough people to my patreon. Either works for me.

Suffice to say, If I end up releasing act 2 for free it won't be on this platform. Mostly because I want the full game to release here. I'm not as cool as Deltarune to have a "chapter 1 & 2 for free" demo, especially since you won't be able to use your demo save files in the final game. BUT, I will make an announcement here and on my socials when the "Playtesting event" happens!

ANYWAYS, TL;DR:

• Tales From The Other Side (Act 2) will be finished this year.

• I will gather people to make a fun event around it.

• In this event, people will get to play Act 2 for free and give feedback.

• Depending on the reception, the game gets a kickstarter or early access release.

• No matter what happens, I will keep working on act 3 and beyond.
