"Hello,
Thank you for contacting us.
Are there any other applications running in the background when the issue occurs? Please make sure all other programs are turned off while playing the game as they may be interfering with it. Please also try turing off the Steam Overlay in Steam settings.
Have you checked if the drivers for your graphic card and Windows system are up to date? Please use the Windows Update function to make sure your system is fully updated.
Have you tried turning off firewall and your antivirus?
Have you tried verifying the game cache?
1) Right click on game title in your Steam library
2) Choose LOCAL FILES
3) Click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF THE GAME CACHE
4) Run the game after verification
Have you tried running the game as an Administrator?

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? To do so, please try doing the following:
1) Right-click on the game .exe file and choose Properties.
2) Go to the Compatibility tab and set the compatibility to an earlier version of Windows than you are currently using (preferably Windows XP, 7 or 8 as the game was originally created for these systems).
3) Set the game to run as Administrator.
4) Save the changes and try running the game.
Could you please send us your dxdiag, because the information you provided us with is incomplete without it? To create the file please press Windows key+R on your keyboard and in a new window type "dxdiag" command. Then in DirectX diagnostic tool press a button at the bottom of the window to turn the 64-bit version of the program on (depending on the system you are using, the option may not be available). Finally save the file by using the "Save all information" button and send it to us.
Kind regards,
1C Tech Support"
So far, nothing they mentioned worked for me, but maybe it will work for some of you. If it does, please let me know in this post.
Anyways, im not going to screw around with it if it is working now..as i don't want it to break. If it works, keep it!
PLEASE PIN THIS MODERATORS! IT will help other people having same issue.

One more fact is you won't be able to upload screenshots for this game since you turn off steam overlay.
(I have not tried running it as administrator and I do not intend to, this is a work machine. A game that cannot run as normal user is broken)
But i found that game crashes only after i LOAD game and then talk to commander. If i play completely new game and talk to commander without loading, then i appear in the village and there is fight. After loading game and then talking to commander, game crashes instead of showing the village.
Game crashes also sometimes when i enter map square with enemy sign. I have read that after that i should be able to fight against enemy army. But i have never seen it in my life. When i enter map square with enemy sign, then that map is empty (no enemy there) or game crashes.
Sometimes when i enter village conquered by enemy, there is correct map, but people are from completely different map or all of them are moved by some constant offset. And usually it crashes after time.
This all seems related. It looks like game incorrectly computes position for map units. In better scenario units are moved (even between different maps), in worser scenario, game crashes.
i will add this info to my guide since my fix does not work for everyone. Professional Penguin, i gave credit to you for finding this possible fix.
i also added contribution from you for having alternative method of fixing this bug in my guide.

Maybe you can fix this one situation, but there are infinite amount of situations in Konung 2 when the same bug can appear.
So according to your hint - you should never never never save any game in Konung 2.
BTW, saving is not the problem. Loading game is the problem.
I personally mentioned exactly the same "solution" like half year ago in this same conversation. Just look up my comment from 1st January. ;)
And as i mentioned in my previous comment:
THIS DOES NOT FIX THE BUG.
Thats only a delay of bug. If it will not crash at Anastasia start, it will still crash some time later in the game.
NOTE: Gave credit also to you Wolfy.
