I keep having errors downloading the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2!
I need it to be able to play this game but it keeps erroring. I check online and find that I might need a security update.

I go to the security update and both updates arent compatiable with my Windows 8 HP Pavilion G6.

I then try so many downloads and it doesn't work, and now I feel like I bought this game for nothing. It never specified that i needed this and now that It's asking me for it I can't play the game? Ugh.

Can someone help?

4.5.1 Sorry typo!

Hello,

Could you please tell me if the game crash, or when the error message appears?

I suggest you to:
  • Install manually the .Net Framework 4.5.1, you can find the install application here => /Steam/Steamapps/Common/Endless Legend/_CommonRedist/DotNet/4.5.1

  • Deactivate your antivirus for a moment or add a new exception rule for the game EndlessLegend.exe.

  • Verify integrity of the game cache: Right click on Endless Legend (in Steam) > Properties > Local files > Verify integrity of the game cache

The game doesn't crash, it just tells me to continue loading the game that I need it.

And the error appears after I press install and download, once its done downloading and it's going through the installment, the last box instead of " It has finished installing " says an error has occured and it tells me really nothin to gix it.

And i'll try those suggestions right away and get back to you on it, probably won't take long. Thanks for responding by the way.

It's great that the developers actually help people out, way better than the Civ BE people.

None of the things listed above seemed to work. The game still says I need it. It pops it up while loading the introduction and any other game at "Starting the world geometry process"

In the past when i downloaded and installed an older game, specifically Eurotruck 2 my .net got screwed up as well and i lost the ability to access most of my steam games.

You may have downloaded an older game after Endless Space that overwrote the files and corrupted them. It is a pain but try and find and manually download the files and then install from your computer to fix the issue.

There are some non microsoft websites containing the help instructions and files that might help you. Good luck.

Ive tried so many tools and even the microsoft program to fix the .NET Framework said it couldn't fix it.

What the hell is going on q.q

hmm the recent flurry of steam chat messages created by a virus program did infect or create a . file if i recall a sna.framework file.

If you answered or clicked on one of those links maybe it is screwing up your files. Norton found and removed it for me.

I haven't clicked on one of those links, Ill look for it though.

But I kept going after a file one after another to fix the problem, and I even tried a system refresh. EVEN THE REFRESH GAVE ME AN ERROR.

It's like one problem after the other. I'm so frustrated right now.

you need to do a complete system and virus/spyware scan then confirm the game files through steam After that check for updates and find a reputable .net repair download ( or use the suggested repair by the developer above first) not just the .net files and hopefully it will work out

Yeah I tried that.

I'm going to do a factory reset, and start fresh, but of course back up my files ;D! That seems like its the only way itll work.

before you do a reset try a couple other free scanners and try and repair or revert windows back to a save point windows not just .net it might work where the specific tool does not.

Good luck if you reset it.

I am getting a game crash . The message reads as follows ; Game crash report folder named " 2014-11-26_090516" the next game executable . It would be great if you'd send it to the developer of the game ... Then the game crashes back to Steam .

Run Windows update and add an exclusion in your Antivirus for the steam library directory.

As mentioned above your antivirus if using Norton for example you may need to to go into the advanced settings and Insight to trust the executable for steam and endless legends. It seems that every time steam or for another example Arma 3 gets updated Norton no longer trusts them and can quarantine them.

If not using Norton you can still go find the executable in the steam directory and right click to give it "run as admin" access and also there should be an option re your antivirus. It will not fix internal errors in the game but might reduce some system issues trying to run or install it.
