It depends on victory type, world size, AI difficulty, race etc.

But if you play an all out standard game and you know what you want to build/know the game a bit I think it is 2-3 hours

Average game length...lol. Had to say honestly. Had a buddy of mine come over bring his computer and we set up a game. I think we had it on, 6 empires. Normal size, and we started at 11 aclock pm. Finished(and when i say finished saved and stoped) at 6.00 am. We had it on 600 turn max.
Im loving this game, but songbird has it about right. 2-3 hours. Maybe more if your more of a Strategic player.

3-4 hours. My first games were 6 hours, but as I've gotten better that's down to about 3 now.

IMO, that's much better than the games of Civ V that just go on and on.

Same here. My first game was around 6 hours, next few games were all around 3 or 4 hours.

Depends on your skill. Got an expansion victory in 150 turns, then science in 152, then economy in 174, then wonder in 221. All in one game as Vaulters on normal dificulty.
