Pillars of Extraction

Stumped as to how to build these 4 Pillars for the Ardent Mage Questline. I don't see it anywhere under research, empire, etc. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Research arcana of materializing. Then just place the pillars on the map, providing you have enough dust to sustain 4 of them.

Thank you for the response. However, I do not have the option (No such thing in my trees) to reseach Arcana of Materializing. Is there a pre-requesite I'm missing?

Are you playing a custom made faction ? You may have removed the arcana of materializing tech by accident. Some custom faction setup can screw the empire quest.

I am playing custom. That has to be the problem, I didn't remove it, but it appears playing as a custom AM screws with the faction quest. Thank you for your insight.
