Yes, that is a stack of 15 military units on turn 100. The proliferator has this crazy ability where anything it attacks will turn into a level 1 forager at the end of battle. As far as I can tell, there is no penalty for going over the military cap.

Tough to call it broken though, as it gets extremely expensive to maintain the larger army, even with the unique tech that gives -50% maintenance cost. And they are basic level 1 foragers. Against a competant Ardent Mage player, I'd bet they could wipe out the entire stack with a couple Ateshi Zealots.

Of course you can still sell off the extras you get for extra cash, and keep a handful to throw at the enemy as fodder while your "real" army stays protected and amasses levels.

Still, a lot of fun :D Really gives the "swarm" feeling when it is literally 4 against 1 on the battlefield.

There is one downside to being over your army cap. The upkeep cost for that army goes through the roof. If I am running proliferators I tend to just turn the extra guys into dust. 300ish per isn't a small amount in the early game.

Aren't they melle fighter thought? So you can only have a few of them figthing at the same time.

Don't get me wrong, really cool, but I feel a normal army with some range unit would far outperform that.

The foragers? Yeah they are melee. Like I said, difficult to call it broken because a few specialized troops could probably wipe out the entire thing.
