It's a solid game, pardonne moi, will be a solid game. The release 1.0 was a crash fest with a lot of bugs, nowhere near the stability of Endless Space launch. Don't lie to yourselves, this launch was rushed and this it's still in beta stage.
Endless Legend surely will deserve that score, in a near future, but today it's an unbelievable score.

I don't think Amplitude Studios has even close to the connections, or marketing budget over magazines, to have an influence on review sites.

I just believe the reviewer played the game and found the game good.
Reviewers often disregard a few issues, so that surely happened again.

Something else to consider is games just don't get released in 100% finished state anymore. It has been this way for several years now, and mentioning it on every. single. release. isn't going to magically make the trend disappear. So the 8.6 may very well been, like Aekar mentioned, the reviewers downplaying the lack of polish since you would be docking points on every review at that point, since nearly every release is the same.

It is also silly to accuse an early access game of paying off reviews. The reason why there are paid reviews is to hype up a game to get massive week 1 sales before word gets out that the game is meh at best. Amplitude wasn't exactly trying to hide anything seeing as you could have played their game before it was officially released.

A crash fest - To some. As to be expected on the PC platform with so many configurations. I haven't crashed a single time since release - A single time.

The only relevant complaints you can make are those that affect the entire customer base - AI, Balance and such. That a small portion (as is common) of players are having problems generating worlds or having crashes (A lot of those being due to using low end hardware that have no business running the game to begin with) are irrelevant to a review score.

When it comes to IGN one thing is very clear: Whatever score they give a game it's the only score that game 100% doesn't deserve.

I haven't played this game; busy with wasteland 2 right now but the user scores are actually quite good and the sales on steam so far have been decent. To be honest it might be a while before I seriously consider buying this game just because the backlog has gotten deep - i still have fallen enchantress to play and pillars of eternity as well as wichard 3 are high on my list not to forget grimlock 2; then there is the new civ game and borderland game (if they are any good) - to be honest 2014/2015 have been fantastic year for us tbs/fantasy/rpg gamers.

Exactly. That's a legit score. I rated it higher in my steam review (8.7), but then again, I am enjoying the game immensly. I also know that AMplitude will make the game better, so I'm not bothered at all.
