Will this game play well with only 4 GB of Ram?
I was thinking about buying this game , and before I do so, I need to know this.

I have 12 GB of ram on my gaming laptop, with a good video card, and I got an out-of-memory warning in my first few minutes of play. But then I jacked up my virtual memory to about 16GB and it's working fine. Runs a little choppy with the winter animation, though.

You meet the minimum however it all depends on your pc, do you have readyboost using flash drives pretending to be ram? Do you have a monster GPU? Why dont you lay out your specs and we start there. This game isnt a huge game as far as graphics go its not like GTA V or rome total war during the battle its more like the map part during rome total war and civ V playthrough with its own twist of course. So can you play other games that need alot of gpu/and ram?

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1
Processor: 2.5Ghz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 or equivalent
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: 1GB nVidia Geforce GT460 or equivalent, 500 MB ATI HD4850 or equivalent
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Hard Drive: 3 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible Audio
Additional Notes: Minimum Resolution: 1280 x 720

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1
Processor: 3.5Ghz Intel Core i5 or equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 1GB nVidia Geforce GTX660 or equivalent, 1GB ATI HD7850 or equivalent
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Hard Drive: 3 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible Audio
Additional Notes: Minimum Resolution: 1280 x 720

I meet all the minimum requirements, but my GPU is kinda old. If it helps, I run games like TF2 or Gmod flawlesley, and Civ 5 runs pretty good.

Give it a shot, or have a friend let you play there account on your pc with there game to see if it works well.

Sometimes the game falls off a back of a truck and you can see if it works and then get it.

As of now I have dedicated a 8 GB flashdrive to "Ready Boost". Will this help?

Maybe a dev will pop over and help I cant make the call for you I say buy it!

https://www.mm og a.c o m/Steam-Games/Endless-Legend-Classic-Pack.html 14 bucks
http://www.gamingdragons.com/en/game/buy-endless-legend-classic-pack-steam-key.html 24 bucks

Both have the emperor edition for cheaper than steams normal version. If you buy it from there ensure you get the steam key. If you get it post back and tell us if it worked.

The issues will arise in later turns, im sure from the begining it will play fine.

Following Facciolas post, buy the game with discount, use the remaining money and pick up another stick of ram, 4GB Ram stick will only run you around 30 dollars in any nearby computer repair store, (alternatively you can use Newegg.com) just make sure you know what type your Ram port is, ddr2/3

Cheers!

Indeed you can also stick to smaller maps as well and maybe not 8 players per game. 2 - 4 small med maps you should be fine.

Ah, a mac, appologies, I only have a macbookpro laptop for work so no experience. A small guide below, seems easy enough, no idea on the mac ram prices though.
