Is Steam Overlay not coming up for everyone else too?

Doesn't work for me or two other friends recently, which means we can't invite each other (though can still join manually if we search the open games. Is this a bug they're aware of? Happening to others?

With the latest patch, when you start the game from the library you now get 2 options, either "Play Endless Legend" or "Steamdeck compatibility". When you launch with Steamdeck comp, the overlay is there, but I still can't invite my friends. Clicking on their name won't do anything. If I choose "Play endless legend", then the invite button just doesn't do anything anymore. This used to work fine before this patch...

humm.. today my invite worked with the Steamdeck compatibility...
