Game closes itself before launching.
It show's the screens for the developer, the publisher, and my latest installed DLC, and then closes before the menu can even show. It does not freeze like it crashed, it just closes and does not show as running on Steam or in my task manager after it closes like Civ V tends to do.

I'm not super tech adept so please tell what path to take through the files if I need to go anywhere in the files and change anything.

You could try if one of those fixes is of use for you:

Avast Anti-Virus (what you don't need anyway, as long as you have Windows Defender):

a) disable Avast and start game
b) create an exception ("whitelist") within your antivirus software for Endless Legend folder(s), especially in your documents folder and start game

From my experience, Avast Anti-Virus can cause a lot of issues with different games. Often this kind of "anti-virus" software is like cancer...

I could imagine you make use of Intel 10th & 11th Gen CPU (info missing in specs). This case check out this fix:

It could be of use, to offer information about your rigs and os you have. Same with anti-virus software.

The system variable thing fixed it. At first it'll look like it didn't but then it loads.

Glad you were able to fix it on your end. Enjoy Endless Legend!

Glad the system variable fixed it for you, that's an issue with Win 11. Personally I use Avast and never had any issue with it and play many different games. Many of the access issues are related to installing games in the Program Files folders, never install them there, always create a new folder for Steam. Glad you got it resolved.
