Center of Influence Facility
This thing just seems ridiculously broken. I'm playing on the largest map size, with as much ocean as possible, and this spawned on the complete opposite side of the map for me. It just completely wrecked my influence generation, I have a -55% and -10 penalty and I'm in no situation to do anything about it.

I believe this is a bug, it's supposed to be -1% per fortress owned, not -1% per fortress on the map. I've reported it on the official forums.

Has anyone run into a Dust Accumulator? I saw a preview of it and it's supposed to have a similar mechanic except with dust instead of influence, I'm wondering if it has the same bug or not and should be reported as well.

Edit: Nevermind, the Dust Accumulator isn't revealed until era 4, thought it was supposed to be the same tim as the influence one. Anyway it has the same issue.

Also saving and reloading caused the numbers to update, it looks like instead it's counting fomorians as an empire and counting every fortress they own, which is essentially all of them since the AI doesn't seem to be going after them.

Gald to hear this is likely a bug. I couldn't understand why my influence gains dropped by about 90% ... for no apparent reason. It makes it impossible to support your previous empire plans (which isn't crippling, but certainly makes for some rougher gameplay). And forget about assimilating additional minor factions in the late game. Playing on a huge map, with multiple continents ....

It's confirmed to be an issue, they are looking into it.
Yet a month later and no reply from them. I was wondering why I got hit with such a large penalty this game. Thanks for explaining it. Now it's time to search for this facility and take control of it.

CoI and Naval Architecture Facility are super broken. I won Econ victory with Morgawr on turn 55 Fast speed just because I was selling lvl 7 Vores that I was producing for 0 Industry cost in a city with Necro and Morgawr heroes, other cities were producing them for 28 Industry. I was only gated by the amount of spawn points on sea and army stack size. Not to mention I already conquered whole ocean and garrisoned it with 8 Vores each. Dust Accumulator even in its current state is nowhere as tantalizing but still silly. Basically all unique sea facilities are OP as hell. With how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ resources on land are, Strategic/Luxury Boost facilities make you swim in resources with no approval to take care of, and AI is hesitant to go to war only for sea conquest. Vile Tide is just a free unbeatable roaming ally. Sky Shaker can just cockblock all the sea with Lightnings everywhere because no one is using Batyspheres. Facility that boosts Attack and Defense for each controlled fortress is putting your ships on crack.

With Tempest, seas are not an alternative, they are the main place of power.

well it's pretty bad for my campain with the forgottens... i cannot spy anymore. and without spy, no tech. this extention need more balance. i hope their going to fix this quickly

That is not how you play Forgotten efficiently, my friend. Buying techs with them is much more efficient and industry is more efficient than dust for raising buildings and units. Stop throwing Dust at a building just because you can buyout it in a turn. Risking ~400 dust worth of your hero for whatever the enemy has researched with each espionage attempt is a very bad deal.

Forgotten go through Era 1 super fast, I believe only Ardent Mages can do it faster - Vaulters would do it at a similar pace. Your choke point is Era II where there aren't many ways to speed up Dust production for teching, so use whatever you can - sell poorly equipped units in full armies once you have your military up, grab dem ruins, utilize their Expert Forager bounty for killing tribal villages. Without Prisoners, Slaves and volunteers and BOTH tier 2 Economic and Industrial Empire Plan throwing dust at buildings and units is a waste. And even with this setup it's bad for Forgotten - you need Dust for techs.

I gave up on this game because of that facility thing. I don't know how to disabled it. I am playing allied with my son, and out of my 300 income influence I only profit 49 because all is going away to whatever that facility is.

Just disable the Tempest expansion in the game creation screen.
The rest of the game is still fun without it.

August 2018. Thread bumped.

So, just bought the DLC bundle and I find out about this with -76% on both Dust and Influence.

Yeah... I'm paying for gamebraeking bugs of 2 years ago.

... i literally just bought this DLC and there's a thread saying people should disable it? lol, gaming in 2018 is great isn't it...
