Saving not possible, unable to genertate .xml file

somewhere between turns 38-72 i get the error when i try to save "unable to genrate .xml file"
autosaves also stop occuring. This happens even when using no mods.
i have all expansion packs but inferno.

windows 10 professional, 64bit.

Perhaps this folder: "[PC] [Documents dir]/Endless Legend/Save Files/*.zip" has no read/write permission?

No, it saves fine before. [and the folder does allow read/write i checked]

I will have my manual saves from turns 1, 7, 14, 15, 18, 20, 26..

example
say iit stops saving on turn 45. i can exit the game and resart it.
then i can load an auto save from turn 41 or a manual save from turn 38 and upon turn 45 the game will stop saving,

the 35-72 is because i've tried about 10 times playing through. each time i hit a certin turn number [diffrent for each game but each game keeps the same fail turn] and saves just stop happening.

Verify your game cache.
A work around would be deleting the old saves,
My save files just shows as .sav so I don't see any .zip in there.
If you've never cleaned out your save folder and it is full of old saves that could be the issue.

From what I read here, I guess you make use of an old save game from before at least two patches?

-only started playing about 2 weeks ago, don't have any old games from before patches.

Did the verifiy, and deleted old saves, did not fix anything, started a new game today and got to round 60 before saving stoped working.

I have this same problem. I've been deleting temporary files which worked once around turn 80, but it didn't work when the same problem occurred on turn 183. I am playing with mods.

Did the verifiy, and deleted old saves, did not fix anything, started a new game today and got to round 60 before saving stoped working.

I actually troubleshot it down to a specific mod that was able to change the starting quests for factions. It messed with the naval quests in some way and would not allow you to save after completing a naval quest. I can't remember which mod it was exactly, but it was one that overhauled traits significantly - not just adding points or something.

I solved this by disabling the mod "Increased Settler Mobility during first turn"
