Is monstrous tales fixed?
I was wondering whether to purchase the seemingly small expansion "Monstrous Tales", since I like quests and I suppose this has some (though hard to tell from the description), yet the reviews seem to indicate the quests are broken or bugged. It's hard to tell if these have been fixed in the last years -- is this DLC safe to purchase? thanks

In case you install ELCP (Endless Legend Community Patch) you get the most polished and bug-fixed gaming experience including additional game options. Strongly recommended. You still can go for achievements using ELCP.

Link to ELCP in official Amplitude forum:

If you want to play vanilla game with bug-fixes, only, install ELCP and make use of this Steam workshop mod called ELCP Vanilla Balance:

Keep in mind, AI is improved, when choosing to activate ELCP (same in connection with workshop mod ELCP Vanilla Balance).

Um ... thanks ... But that doesn't really address my question. I just wanted to know if the reviews of EL monstrous Tales were still accurate (eg the quests are still broken or bugged) or not. I don't otherwise own any EL dlc other than one.

When writing my previous comment I realized you'd respond exactly like this (for reason). So I'm sorry to not beeing that helpful, as long as I make use of ELCP, only (for reason).

For to "appear" a little more constructive, I think quoting the latest patch description could be of use for you - at least until someone else will answer your question.

Patch Notes [1.8.52] (PC-only for now; Mac to follow)

FIXES

* Fixed units from DLCs missing textures
* "Wildfire" quest no longer triggers in the very early game
* Fixed most quests that spawn armies not being functional
*Added missing villages to Auriga map and increased number of watchtower foundations (This should also address cases of save file corruption when playing on the Auriga map)

Apologies to our players on Mac.
Technical issues have kept us from creating a stable Mac version of this build. We hope to remedy this soon, but the impact of of the quest-related bugs on the game experience is such that we do not want to delay the release of this patch. In the meantime, you can continue playing on version 1.8.45, and if you wish to play multiplayer with people on PC, they can roll back to this version from the Betas tab of the game's properties.

Look I appreciate you taking the time to answer, but can you answer the question? Do those things from the patch apply to that dlc? Is the answer then yes? Or partly?

To answer your quoted question: I won't uninstall ELCP for to check it out ingame and to waste my time, no offense and big sorry.

So "no".

Sure, the quests, especially. But I still can't tell you, if it's 100% fine, now.

In your case I'd bother about the word "most" in this context.

I'd have to guess to answer this case (you know, I still did write about the reason for above - I'm not really qualified to answer):

"Yes, partly?"

As I wrote, (perhaps) "someone else" will be able to answer your question.

As long as you can read in quoted official Patch notes about the fixes from about 6 months ago (2 months past release of Monstrous Tales), you should be able to compare them with the (most) important points of criticism in the negative reviews you refer to - and - in conclusion - know about, if it got adressed and fixed, yet. At least if you rely on the official patch notes by Amplitude I refer to.

By interest, could you write down here what exactly is not fixed in case of DLC "Monstrous Tales", yet? Could be useful for ops decision making process, if to buy or not to buy the DLC.

Not surpised if its not fixed yet. Never had a problem with it though sense I only play with ELCP applied. But maybe the devs will again copy parts of the code/fixes from ELCP and apply it to their next "patch" that covers this.

I kinda hate mods honestly, most do actually add value to a game and only makes it more easy/silly. But passing up on ELCP is silly IMO. It solves a lot of bugs.
