Any other 4x games worth getting?
Oddly enough I only got this game because Ithe music and fantasy setting peaked my interest. I ended up enjoying it here or there. The gameplay loop, is straight forward, and sometimes rewarding if not tedious at times.
Thinking about getting into other games, it seemed boring just go straight into civilization. Was wondering if that's the go to however.

Depends on what you're looking for.
Age of wonders is very similar, it has the same turn based empire management with turn based army battles instead of auto-resolve only.

I personally find the more recent iterations of civilization dull and unfulfilling, and Amplitude did a great job of filling that niche with Endless Legend.

If you're considering civ, you might want to keep an eye out for Humankind, which is Amplitude's attempt at a historical 4X (the very genre civ is).

If you're interested in 4X's in general, I highly recommend Stellaris. It's a space 4X, so definitely not fantasy genre, but the best 4X I have played.

If you're interested in fantasy 4Xs, and are not afraid of older titles, maybe try warlock:master of the arcane, or the good old might and magic series. Nothing too good in modern releases, Endless Legend is as good as it gets there.

I really can't think of any other 4x out there similar to Endless Legend/Endless Space. I don't have AoW, but heard it's very focused on combat much more than the governing aspect. Civ isn't very innovative if you're been following the series over its many iterations. Stellaris is so focused on resource management and the time scale is so epic that you need lots of patience to build up your empire. Humankind is not yet out, so that remains to be seen.

Hello, I would recommend to have a look at the gameplay of Civ V (still best for me) and VI (some interesting concepts there, but V feels complete and engaging to me).
If you want a deeper warfare aspect instead, try some Total War franchise (Empire, Napoleon, Rome 2 and Attila seem the best rated and played so far, on the historical side; Warhammer on the fantasy side).

Go with Endless Space or Endless Space 2, if you want to stay in the Endless universe.

I played 4X since MoO&MoM times and Amplitude games rock in every aspect. Just forget about the rest.

Damn, that is some flex.

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri seriously needs to be remade. No 4X I've played since has been as interesting and exciting to me. I wish Amplitude had stuck with the Endless series instead of Humankind. Still, there's no pleasing everyone, is there?

Civilization probably has the best one more turn that I've come across but most 4x games have their hits and misses about them.

dominions is sort of niche and graphics sort of subpar, it's challenging though, can easily get information overload.

Stellaris and Star Wars Empires are bit more strategy then 4x but sense like sci-fi/fantasy might want to check it out if haven't. Stellaris sort of hard to recommand because paradox keeps changing the game constantly it's more like Stellaris 3 at this point with all the DLC and changes.

Personally when people say Endless Legends is as good as it gets makes me sad, find it just ok.

If only, but there are rights issues.

I used to be like that but I'm out of my honeymoon period. Every Endless game but Dungeon feels like they copied off Paradox' homework.

Endless Legend is a very good introduction game to 4X but overall I think there are other games that do what Legends does but better. The best part is you know those better games are actually overpricing their content so you don't have to feel bad about using the grey market.

80 hours in EL2, I've owned it for years. Stellaris I bought this year and have over 110 hours. My Total Warhammer hours are going to double my 300 EL hours one of these days.

Distant Worlds: Universe tho

I recently got this and really liked my initial 10 hours. Little rough around edges. Fighting against a slaver minor and they seem to have endless troops so started get a little grindy.

It's definetly different.

While I like a lot about it, it's a tad harder to get into the just one more turn for me.
