Vaulters-Mezari Are they the same?
Bought the game quite recently, and i am just begining to understand it. As far as it seems both of these races are the same. I mean not only in background and units, but in traits and way to be played too. Am i right? Are the same race with different portrait? or there is some difference between them?

Thanks in advance guys.
Have fun

Yes, the Mezari is a reskin of the Vaulters. They're completely identical except for cosmetics and the fact that the starting Mezari hero has slightly different perks than the Vaulters one. (Skills are the same, but not the bonuses - one has Science efficiency and the other has Science boost, I think it's the main difference)

Most kind of you, thanks.

I forget WHY they did this though... wasn't it some sort of Easter-eggish free dlc type gift from the devs? Its been a while but i dont recall them both being present at release?

They started off as a Dungeon of the Endless founder bonus.

Just reskinned vaulters! I like their style over the vaulters. More space marine than techno viking.

Thats right, thanks. Which reminds me that I still havent really played that one much yet... El has been getting most of my game time.

I was poking around a bit with planar conquest (a great effort at a MOM remake which needs a bit more patching still imo). But now that tempest is out EL has eaten all my free time. :-) perhaps es2 once its all polished up will pry me away.

What's the gameplay like? Of ES2, I mean. Haven't had the time to take a look at it yet.

Oh,so they come from another game (Dungeon of the endless) then. I must say that they manage to set them in this universe with admirable skills as they fit well. Still i cant get out of my mind how they manage to look like workshop space marines (something like vaulters-loyalist, mezary-traitors).
Anyway, great job in my opinion.

Thanks for the answers guys
Have fun

DotE, EL, ES and ES2 are all part of the same universe. Lore-wise, the Mezari (which is what the Vaulters call themselves) are the descendents of the prisoners left on Auriga in DotE. Hence why the Mezari and the Vaulters are nearly identical.

The Mezari starting hero is significantly better.

ES2 is like EL in space and fun. Though much improvement is needed for its politics system and it's still missing the later eras. Still only turn and military victories available. These will be addressed later on but EA is still rather unpolished atm.

@op, I only played the Mezari not Vaulters because they are identical except that Mezari is cooler looking imo.

So...with all this lore around, i wonder, is this endless universe part of some kind of novel?, or just several games conected to each other?, via sharing the same universe.
All Connected Lore, Same Universe.
You only need to figure out the Timeline.
People theorize ES ---> DoTE ---> EL ---> ES2 or somehow DoTE ---> EL ---> ES ---> ES2
