Army setup is Broken Lord hero (prefferably +3 army defense boost baseline) with 4 Stalwarts using 2H swords, having 2 Driders/2 Ceacators and in era 2, another 2 bishops, in era 4 another 2 bishops, 2nd army is 4-8 bishops/ archer(Orc mainly) + 2-4 healers.
Main army 4th era extra bishops can also be swapped with 2 Orcs if you have or go for 3 healer-3 bishop setup instead of 2-4.
Broken Lords became truly broken if they have healing access.
Also, Drider is not too preffered, because of cocoon stun, but it can also create an insanely strong meat shield (records are around 1700-1800 armor for Stalwarts with era 4-5 armors and still with 2H swords, not even with Shields :D
It's just that you lose their counterattack potential (damage/attack boost ring + retaliation ring; attack boost only if you can afford the excesive palladium costs, but you can also go for the ranged armor with Iron ring for cheap and still realy tanky design).
(+2 army size with elite army setup is a must have if custom faction is available, in terms of multiplayer I can't say anything, but it's probably a strategic weapon + dust everything else for as much armies as possible, but still keep up with numbers too)
However, elite army requires one important thing, that you must do as much as possible -> keep your enemy army number low -> if possible, attack an army every day, and attack one with more units in it, because you won't be able to keep up with swarming enemies after a while; you might be able to keep your amy alive and at max HP, etc, but they still be able to lock down your cities with siege and stuff just by pouring trash on you ifyou don't clean that up preemtively.
