How to fix multiplayer desync reloading every turn?
Could I please get some assistance on this? When I do random multiplayer games I never have this issue, but when I play with one person on my friends list who I play Civ games with often one whoever isnt hosting has to deal with desyncs literally every turn.

Is there something that can be done to fix this? I've only had this issue when playing MP games with just them and I.

A common cause of frequent desyncs is one of the players having manually modified their game files.

Can confirm that it seems to become more common the more mods a game is running.
One solution that a friend with a background in networking found is disabling IPv6 in ethernet adapter settings. (and running through IPv4 instead)

[EDIT] Here's a list of the settings I changed at his recommendation.

Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections - Ethernet - Properties

QoS Packet Scheduler disabled (default is enabled)
Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) disabled (default is enabled)

Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections - Ethernet - Properties - Configure - Advanced

Large Send Offload (IPv4) disabled (default is enabled)

Hope this helps, we haven't had any issues with desyncing since changing these settings, despite having about 70 mods running. (79 according to workshop subscribed files, but a few are disabled in-game)

I know you posted this two years ago, but by chance is only the host supposed to change these settings or all players? also do you know if you have to restart the game/computer for changes to take effect? Thanks m8.

Bump, would like to know as well if it's just the host or everyone that has to change these settings.

Ever since the Aug/2020 update I have been having desync issues practically every turn in LAN MP. Happens with no Community mods enabled. My PC top notch performance. Any others having this issue?

If you found a fix please share. This randomly started happening and my PC has top specs and I have never installed mods for the game.

I'm sorry to revive this old thread, but this gets posted all over the internet and we finally found a solution that worked for us (games of 6 human players). Hopefully other people find this thread and see this:

Before every single multiplayer game, have all of the players verify the integrity of their game files (library > right click civ 6 > properties > local files > verify).

Since we started doing this we have had no issues.

Thanks! My friends and I will try this out.
