Is there crossplay between Epic games version and Steam version?

For example, can i play with my friend who has the game launched through Epic while i'm launching the game through Steam? or do we both have to play the same version?

is if you look in Multiplayer there's a new mutliplayer game option that says 'Unified PC play'. The tooltip for its says play against users on other platforms.

Just click multiplayer it listed as one of the options along with hot seat etc.

Oh, that option isn't avaiable in the Epic games version :(

I thought the epic games store might be outdated but it's the same version, yet it's lacking the crossplay option, wtf

As I heard, the GTA 5 offer wasn't the best idea for existing players because cheaters were able to create as many accounts as they wanted to have some spare copies.
