Hot Seat + Cloud Save

As far as I can see & understand, using the my2k account for Cloud Saving in Civ 6 over Steam (on a Mac BTW) works for Single Player mode only. We're usually playing hot seat but sometimes swapping desktop and laptop computers. Is there any workaround for that?
(In the hot seat mode, the "Cloud" option in Savegames is greyed out)
