I did it with Civ V. You just have to start the launcher, not even the game, and you can enter a lobby in Civ VI. Thanks for the tip!

could you define the solution? launcher of the CIV? but launcher is launch the game, not clear how to fix :(

Start Civ V launcher. Start Civ VI game. Enter lobby. Civ V launcher takes like 5 Mb of RAM, so you can leave it running in the background.

You can play a MP games like this, but status in steam is still "online" when you in CIV and achievements not working too.

Game crashed amd now I can't play multiplayer The error that comes up when I try to join is error cannot connect to multiplayer. As for the game crashing it's acting like alt F4. It just crashes with no error screen.

The issue is sometimes its multiplayer error message, 99% its waiting , and 1% its allow you to play, i have to try 1/000 times to enter just 1 game....
