Gets stuck in the turn phase, any fix yet?
For quite some time now the game has been unplayable for me as it the game will just idle between turns and not move forward, it just gets stuck in the turn phase whilst the music is running. It's not like a freeze, it just never finishes the turn.

I've heard alot of other player have had similar issues. So there should have been a fix by now right?

its a pretty bad issue.

some have reported turning off barbarian clan mode helps.

some also say to bypass the crappy 2k launcher.

best of luck to you, the parent company has gone silent on updates for the game so.

I've been dealing with this freeze crash issue for a couple years or more and let me say that I've tried everything from buying a new super gaming pc and installing Civ6 fresh and vanilla with no mods to bypassing launcher and controlling the number of cores/threads the game uses on my cpu as well as reducing all performance settings to the lowest possible. NOTHING made a difference.

I have to guess that something in the code got changed in one of the updates to run their DLC releases. When this game first came out I was able to play for 16 hours straight in marathon mode. Somewhere in the subsequent releases of DLCs it started freeze crashing requiring a "windows key, power, restart" procedure.

I have a digital readout on my motherboard giving me my cpu temp. The game runs my cpu at a respectable mid 50'sC(it's liquid cooled) and, randomly, any where from 10 turns into a new game up to turn 300 it will freeze crash rendering my PC useless while sending my cpu temps into the high 70's non stop until I restart the system.

Just resign yourself to restarting your PC every time it happens. Hope you have a SSD for quick boot times. The only reason I still play this game is that my new PC has a boot time of about a minute. That being said, constantly rebooting your PC multiple times just to continue playing one game can not be healthy to your system.

I encourage folks to try the 2k launcher bypass. I've never had a crash in my 300 something hours of gameplay, but I still feel the game runs smoother now that I have bypassed the launcher. Perhaps it's just in my head, but so it feels to me at least.

It seems unlikely that there will be any more content or patches coming. I don't think there was an official announcement, but it seems like development is probably over.

If the usual fixes (launcher bypass) don't work, it's probably a good idea to go through 2k support and let them know about it.
