Builders won't build
Hi
I am new to the civ series and I have gut stuck on a very basic thing. My builder wont build a farm. It managed to build 1 farm but when I try to build a second one the build option is greyed out. I have taken a screenshot that may be of some help.:steamsad:

B: Once you can harvest that resource, you could harvest that bonus resource and then build a farm there. The typical option for this tile would be to put a pasture (unlocked via 'animal husbandry' tech)

C. Dye... you can never remove that resource, so your only option is either building a city on top of it (too late now as it would be to close to your current city) or you can build the correct building used to acquire that luxury good. (Research Irrigation to unlock that builder option)

D. Looks like that is a grasslands hill. You won't be able to build a farm there until quite a bit later in the game.

E. Forest: mentioned that as the example in my previous post....

F: Outside your territory, but looks like it is just a plains tile so you should be able to farm there once it is within your borders.

If it's grayed out, it means the tile is not suitable to build a farm on. There can be several reasons why that's the case though.

Perhaps you can link the screenshot here?

Hover over that tile and make sure it isn't a hill. You can't build farms on hills until a bit later in the game.

If that does turn out to be the issue, can I suggest this mod:

It allows you to more easily distinguish hills without needing to hover over the tile for info.

I looks like a hill but I ve tried to build on a lot of tiles surrounding my city and the builder just doesn't seem to be able to build on anything.

None of those are valid tiles for farms as they currently are, for various reasons. Some would be after you've cleared the current thing on it. Which in the very early game, you don't have the ability to do. Note that some can never be removed, like the dyes. Luxury and strategic resources can never be harvested to clear the tile.

The one to the lowest left is not yet in your territory.

Oh, neither is the uppermost left.

If you want to re-label your pic with a letter for each tile I can go over what you can do with each.

For instance, the tile with forest on it... as long as its flat, and not hills you can either build a lumber mill (once you get the tech) or clear the forest (once you get the tech, this is a very early one to un-lock) and then, even in early game, after you've you cleared that tile if its flat, you'd then be able to build a farm, or if it's a hill, you'd be able to build a mine (with that tech unlocked of course, lol. But it is also a very early one)

Thank you for having patience with a total n00b :steamhappy:

Here is the same pic re-labeld: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AiYKOL_B1gEE6kAz_cGtPwOX-Dyq?e=GDNxQu
