Intro Cinematic Audio Won't Stop Playing

Worked this morning. Now, when I start the game, the intro cinematics audio starts playing before the splash screen, and keeps playing even with the main menu open, or while actually playing the game. It just keeps going, and repeating on top of all the other sounds. Any idea what's going wrong?

No mods.
Files verified.
Restarted computer.

The only change I made was allowing iTunes to be my default player. Did that screw up Civ 6? If so, that's crazy.

This is so weird. I thought I'd fix it by disabling the opening cinematics in the game options. That almost sort of worked. Now, all I see is a very long Loading Please Wait screen while the first cinematic audio plays. Then, when the audio is done, I get the splash screen and then the menu. None of this can be shortened by hitting escape and such-like

It's working right now. I went through this about 20 times. Did nothing in particular, and now it's working right for no particular reason. Makes me hesitant to buy any more DLC.

oh my. there is a mod in the workshop to skip the intro entirely. Name is "quick start". Since then I haven´t seen the intro, so have never been bothered with anything around that. Will probably not "fix/solve" your problem but bypass it. You should not worry about the dlc, have played them over the years and no significant problems with the game occured. Many mods work well, too; well sometimes some mods affect the same system/UI element and then the program has problems.
