That player emailed the file to the player who had the first turn. Then we had that player "host" create the game and had everyone back into the game in the same order as the original player list. It took us a few tries to re-create the game because we didn't have all of 7 of our players hit "ready" before the timer ran out on the screen.
This was the second time in 2 years that it happened to us. I was ready to give up when I couldn't find any auto-saves in my PC since 2020 (and I think I saw a forum post that said they were no longer being created), but then someone else in our group saw somewhere else that they were still being created just only on the PC of the last player (not the last one to take any turn, but the last one in the list of players).
Then I tried hosting a game with Pangäa as Map and this worked perfectly.
In the other case it tells me it is a Mod issue but this seems like a lame excuse.
This has just happened to me and it's not the first time... when you say you had to recreate the game, is that you guys literally creating the game again from scratch but with the same civs and setting etc and the players in the same order and then going from there?? How does it pick up the autosave? Do you have to name the game the same or something? Any help would be appreciated!!
