Multiplayer cloud game corrupted?
Hi,

Me and two friends had a 6 armed flake game going and 40+ turn in, a problem occured. Now its my buddies turn but the game got replaced by a pangea game on turn 1. As far as the cloud is conserned it's still the same game as it is same code as the original game to get in. Tried opening a ticket with 2k but its been a week and they havent replied.

We just had the exact same thing happen to us. A 2 player that suddenly changed to Pangaea.lua map type, and it won't let either of us join. It says mods won't load.

The mouse over should tell you what mods exactly won't load.

Ultimately the tech rep said there was nothing they could do and the game was gone forever. That was the last attempt at MP for us.

We just had a similar issue. We managed to re-create the cloud game from an auto-save. But now I can't quit the original auto-save since it crashes on load.

@Kristian, how did you enable autosaves for multiplayer games as for us they are not created (anymore?)

They still were back when I played. Haven't played since December.

We ran into this last week and were able to get it resolved. We had to re-create the game using a save file that existed only on the PC of the player who had the last turn of the round (the player at the end of the player list).

That player emailed the file to the player who had the first turn. Then we had that player "host" create the game and had everyone back into the game in the same order as the original player list. It took us a few tries to re-create the game because we didn't have all of 7 of our players hit "ready" before the timer ran out on the screen.

This was the second time in 2 years that it happened to us. I was ready to give up when I couldn't find any auto-saves in my PC since 2020 (and I think I saw a forum post that said they were no longer being created), but then someone else in our group saw somewhere else that they were still being created just only on the PC of the last player (not the last one to take any turn, but the last one in the list of players).

I have also an issue with Cloud Games I do not understand. I tried to create a game using the primordial map. But in the overview of the game it states the Map Type is nil. I am using a German language version, there the name of the Map is "Urzeit".

Then I tried hosting a game with Pangäa as Map and this worked perfectly.

In the other case it tells me it is a Mod issue but this seems like a lame excuse.

This has just happened to me and it's not the first time... when you say you had to recreate the game, is that you guys literally creating the game again from scratch but with the same civs and setting etc and the players in the same order and then going from there?? How does it pick up the autosave? Do you have to name the game the same or something? Any help would be appreciated!!

I think you need to recreate the game with one of the latest auto-saves, and then everyone needs to rejoin. But I haven't played the game for a few years now so I don't remember the details.
