Process priority stuck on "Below Normal"
The turn times in my Civilization 6 are really slow, about 1 min long, regardless of how far into the game I am. My PC is far above the recommended specs so that is not the issue.

I checked the game's process priority in the Task Manager and noticed it is set to "Below Normal". This is bad, any game you run should have at the very least "Normal" priority.

However, it is impossible to change. Whenever you tab back into the game after changing it (doesn't matter if it's window mode or full screen) the priority is automatically set back to "below normal." The game refuses to let you change priority. Civ VI is the only program that behaves like this for me, never experienced it before.

I have tried using third party programs such as System Explorer to set the process priority, same thing. What the hell is going on? Has anyone else experienced this? Can it be solved?

Some programmes automatically change their priority down when out of focus. This may be the case here as well.

Yeah, that apparently seems to be the case, thank you. I still can't really play the game though. Each turn takes about 1 min, and loads of people are having that problem apparently. Oh well...

It's certainly not a usual problem. I have heard that some people traced it to having graphics settings set higher than their system will handle properly - which ends up bottlenecking everything, not just making bad frame rates. Or so I hear.

Not true, at least not in my case. My PC is well above recomended specs and I turned everything down that was possible to turn down, no change. I turned on Quick movement and Quick combat, no change. I tried switching to strategic view before pressing next turn, no change.

Same thing here. Must be the app itself doing it. Yet another annoyance in this game of 100 annoyances.

The game sets itself to below normal when it's not in focus.
It goes to either normal or above normal (it's been a long time since I checked) when it's in focus.

This is not annoying, this very good and nice behavior. It means it's not demanding maximum resources when it's not in focus.

Also, necroing threads without adding actual original/valuable information is frowned upon.
