It might be worth (depending on what you use) to install the new version to see if that keeps working with Civ6.
(I tested it, and it works for me, both with sharing enabled and disabled. This however is far from conclusive :))
i'd say it *is* 2K and Firaxis' problem...every other game works fine with GeForce Experience. if an update to GeForce Experience broke *every* game...then yes, that's nVidia's fault. but for ONLY Civ6 to crash is Firaxis' problem
and frustratingly, uninstalling GeForce Experience does not work for everyone :(
and i really wish there is a way to rollback to release-version Civ6...the moment the Australia patch dropped is the exact moment i can pinpoint to crashes for me
GFE was updated around that time. Civ6 wasn't.
yeah we got it, 2K/Firaxis wont help... 2K Support told me they cant help me because my ntdll.dll is broken (take a look on my Profile i got almost 1k games in my Lib and every single game runs fine except CivVI).... i tried several other PCs same Problem, i Reinstalled the PC completly... same Problem... you guys have no clue what the problem is, but u know for sure its Nvidias fault or the customers HW or SW....
Thats not the kind of customer support i was expecting
Second, we know Civ6 didn't update and a lot of crashes when starting the game started directly after an update to the nVidia drivers which also included an update to GFE.
If you go back to the version before that, you can even have GFE running together with Civ6 again.
I have no clue what specific part interferes with Civ6, which apparently is very specific, since only a few games suffer from it, but it's still something that broke with an update from NVidia.
It could very well be that something needs to be collaborated between Firaxis and NVidia to fix this, but it's definitely not just simply Firaxis' fault.
I had the same problem.
Geforce Experience uninstalled.
It works.
♥♥♥♥, glup!, sorry

I also tried many of the steps provided in here,
Reading other topics seem to point toward Geforce experience ?
I managed to play without any issues when I first bought the game,
I had 1 gaming session, of about 3 hours and i'm now unable to play it at all
The game crash before the cinematic start, and I remember turning 'Play intro movie OFF'
in the options the first time I played. Might cause an issue ?
Never had an issue playing any other Civ games. I hope I'll be able to solve this, but I'm asking for some help here.
Thank you SamBC,
It does work now that I removed GeForce Experience from my computer.
Isn't a bit strange, How does GeForce cause this particular game to crash?
It doesn't happen with other games as far as I know. But now at least its fixed!
I found that since the last update 1.09 every time I play Mass Effect, CIv6 doesn't work anymore afterwards. Reinstalling the nvidia drivers fixes the issue until I play Mass Effect again.
