Messed up text

This just starting happening to me last night. All the text, both during the menu screens and during the game, is totally messed up. In some cases it's not even there.

First thing I did was turn off my mods and unsubscribed. Didn't help. So I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it, and tried playing just plain vanilla and same messed up text. I have a thousand hours playing and it seems weird this just happened. Hadn't downloaded a new mod in months.

Any ideas?

That's a weird one. Did you try deleting Mods.sqlite in Documents/My Games/Sid Meiers Civilization VI/ and then starting Civ 6 again?

Can't find the location. Should have mentioned I'm on a Mac.
