Sid Meier's Civilization VI

Sid Meier's Civilization VI

Rise and fall not working.
Bought and installed (check box is clicked downloaded the 1.2 gb game).

Game just launches as normal and the expansion isn't being registered.

No mods installed, no subscriptions, did a delete and clean install...

Still not working.

Any ideas???

Thanks,

I had the same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled, its working. Sorry just saw you did that, did you reboot in between the delete / reinstall?

Check in the Additional Content menu if the expansion is actually enabled.
In my case which looks similar, the expansion shows up as installed in Steam but in-game under "Additional Content" it is nowhere to be found.

Rename the file Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Mods.sqlite while the game isn't open, then try again.

If it works, the devs might find it useful to have both the old, broken version and the working version to try to figure out why this happens.

Note rise and fall is not available on Mac Or linux yet

Otherwise do the rename of then mods.sqlite file as noted above
The checkbox in the Steam client wouldn't appear and be ticked if the user were on Mac/Linux.
It says I have rise and fall added and installed, but the description of the game in the steam library has not updated. I checked the files, I restarted steam, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole civ 6 and neither steam, nor the game is acknowledging that rise and fall is installed.

The "description" of the game in your Steam library doesn't change, and the steps you've listed don't affect the additional content DB. Do what I said with the Mods.sqlite file.
I don't have any mods installed (never Dld any), and the file location you listed doesn't exist.

When I check the file path in Steam there is no mod folder there either.

Thanks for the help, but sadly this solution does not seem to work.

The one interesting thing is that in the steam folder, I can see the expansion file there in the directory. Just that the game does not seem to notice. Should there be a new intro cinematic as well like with other expansions to past civs?
I think you are right though, it might be mod related, as the game always seems to have a mod active that just says asdf over and over on it. But the file path you described does not exist on my system, only place there appears to be civ 6 files is in my steam folder and there are no mods there.

Also I do not seem to be able to add new mods either, I click on steak workshop and the button is blacked out, when I do it manually through the steam client, they can't be found in game.

If you're on Windows and you don't have a directory for the game in your "my games" directory, you may have bigger problems. Where are the game's config files for you?

Had the same problem. This worked perfectly for me. Thanks a lot!
I verified my game integrity from the game options and it installed the DLS. Hope this helps someone
I renamed the Mods.sqlite file and restarted the client, my desktop, and unchecked the box in multiple configurations with this.

I have it listed in the Additional Content panel on both the steam settings menu and the game menu.

It doesn't say it's downloaded or installed. But it is clicked to be installed.

Any suggestions?
If it's listed in-game, it's there. Make sure to select Rise and Fall as the ruleset when setting up the game.
