Why is edge scrolling STILL AN ISSUE?
PLEASE FIX YOUR BUGS BEFORE YOU RELEASE DLCS! And this IS a bug. Everytime I scroll to the edge of a map, I hit the UI and it stops scrolling. Very annoying. PLEASE, implement full screen scrolling. SO much easier to use that way.

I have never experienced the problem you describe. (I'm using Win7 in fullscreen mode with a resolution of 1920x1080, with no mods installed.) Can you provide more details about your situation, including what OS you use, what graphics settings you use, and any mods you have installed?

He's talking about if you try to scroll with the top of the screen you can't. You have to go below that UI bar then it moves, if you try to go to edge of screen it does nothing.

I tried it again last night to see if they worked it out, I ended up turning it off again because I dont like it.

I really dont know if its a bug or its intentional. I thought maybe they did that so if you wanted to look at strategic goods it wouldn't scroll, then I said that wouldnt make sense.

That needs worked out or fixed and add in Production Queue.

The problem is not just the top of the screen position but the bottom corners, the minimap and the notifications, don't edge scroll, you have to position the cursor where the main view directly meets the edge of the screen.

How hard can it be to get this right?

Yeah, this is probably my biggest gripe still...especially if you have a UI pop-up on left side of the screen, you actually can't scroll left at all...you need to close what's causing your popup, browse around the map, and then open it bakc up. super tedious for some stuff.

It is pretty broken, but I also don't really us it, I use the mouse drag or keys to scroll the map usually.
Oh, now I understand what people are describing. This is not a bug. It is important that the map not scroll when the mouse is over the UI elements, because those elements contain things that the user can click to interact with...things that the user most likely will not want the map to be scrolling while they are trying to click. For example, one would not want the map to scroll off to the north or north-east every time one moves the mouse up to open the Civilopedia. If that did happen, then players would complain about it.

Once you know that the map will not scroll while you are over the UI it is fairly trivial to position the pointer where you need to so that the map will scroll...ymmv depending on your dexterity and the input device you use (on a touchpad it probably isn't exactly a trivial accomplishment). If your particular situation makes edge scrolling impossible or intolerably inconvenient then there are a number of other ways to natigate around the map; it is likely that at least one of them will serve as an adequate replacement for edge scrolling.

Problem for me at 1280x768 resolution in Full Screen mode on 1920x1080 screen. Yes I KNOW it is a non-native resolution, I did it because I wanted to read the text on a slightly too far away screen. when bar on left pops up

A better way to get stuff readable on your screen might be to use the scaling function from windows, instead of changing the resolution. Perhaps try that to get this fixed?
