the latest version won't fix it. I haven't installed it yet, but I am running the latest beta which includes the graphic patches already.
Concerning compatibility: That is just ridiculous! This game runs very well and without any graphic issues on that very Macbook 2016 when using Bootcamp.
And I had a similar impression to what Johnny Foodstamp mentioned earlier, that he did not run into these lines when he started the game for the first time. However, I cannot document that.
I am thinking about returning my replacement unit as well. It's just really annoying that these issues are not addressed by Apple, even though they released a new version. If it were only Civ, alright, but there are glitches everywhere. Civ V does not have these issues btw. (and has got a better AI, but *psssst*)
That's a choice on their part sadly.
Interestingly, Apple released a first Beta for 10.12.3. Apparently, they could not really fix all the issues they wanted in the previous iteration, so maybe we are lucky this time.
And btw, I installed the latest base version (10.12.2), and as I expected, the error still occurs.
It's all about context - It is a known fact that Apple don't like games on their desktop OS, and haven't for a long time. They use old, stable but low performance drivers, and refuse to open up their platform in any way for game developers to help.
There's a reason why a single company does the vast majority of all Apple ports - And that is something Aspyr have been doing since before the iPhone.
